A Note From the Maynard Sustainability Committee
We are seeking the school community’s input for the town’s climate action planning (CAP) initiative. This CAP work will include data from the attached survey, future public workshops and ongoing public engagement, culminating in a plan of action to prepare Maynard for the climate heating ahead. The input of young people, educators, parents, and all members of the school community living and/or working in town is crucial. We are eager to hear from you.
Thank you!

A Funky Recommendation by Mike Barth
This year it was great to run into Jasper Weeks and his family from Maynard, who have been coming for a few years. It's always in September, and always cold camping in a soccer field with gorgeous fall Berkshire weather, great craft beverages, and some of the Fall colors starting to show. FreshGrass always makes me think of Maynard - how funky, gritty, progressive, and cool the townspeople are. Many of you taking the time to read this review would really love attending this festival with your spouse/partner, or even bringing the kids! As for me and Kelly, this is our special and sacred weekend, so we leave them with grandma to have their own special time. Tickets are already on sale for 2023, and yes we have already purchased them! Maybe I'll see you there!
Fowler's New PTO Website is Launched!
WEBSITE IS LIVE TODAY - DETAILS BELOW 🥳
We are excited to launch the new Fowler PTO website. On this website you can “meet” your PTO, learn about upcoming events, check the status of our fundraising efforts, donate, sign up as volunteers and much, much more! There are new features we will be rolling out in the coming weeks and will announce them in future newsletters. For now if you have a student at the Fowler School please register to stay up date on events and programs going on. To register simply click this link and create your account:
https://fowlermspto.membershiptoolkit.com/create_account
Once you create/register your family account, you should receive an email instantly from the website. This email is very important in order to complete step one of the registration process as you need to verify your account. Click “verify account” in that email and that will bring
you directly back to the Fowler PTO website where it asks for your password again. Once you enter it in you now move onto the last and final step of the registration process. You will be given access to “Your Family’s Account Page” where you need to fill in both forms in “Parent and Student Information” section. Once that is complete your account will be fully registered.
Let us know if you have any questions at FowlerPTOGeneral@gmail.com.We hope everyone has a great final weekend of summer! 🐾
Fowler Bike Club started this week! Free bike helmets, courtesy of the Maynard Police Dept, are available in the main office. Mr. Snyder is working hard to get other clubs and activities up and running this year.
Latin Club, Bike Club, Student Council and NJHS have begun. VERY SOON we will have D&D Club, and many more!
Print this permission slip or get one from the main office. Turn in to Ms. Lochiatto in the office.
Note from Maynard Booster Club
We are a group of volunteers who raise funds to provide annual scholarships, trophies, letterman jackets for student athletes and support to individual teams as needed with special requests.
Fowler School athletes are also recognized with middle school sports awards at the end of each season at our awards night. We would love for some more Fowler Families to join us!
We have a great Booster store where we offer Custom Maynard Tiger Team apparel. We also have Fowler School apparel on the site. Show your Tiger Pride. The store link is https://maynardbooster.itemorder.com/shop/sale/
We primarily raise money through concessions and trophy sponsorships. We are looking for Fall Shack volunteers to help out at soccer games, Friday night football games and field hockey senior night all of which will be held up at Alumni Field. Be ready for our sign-up genius emails that go out to the athlete families. We have many jobs that don’t involve volunteering in concessions as well.
We are looking for fall trophy sponsors right now, the cost is $35 per trophy. If you own a business or are a family that would like to give back, please reach out to us at christinemorgan1299@gmail.com.
Please follow us on Facebook (Maynard Booster Club) for important Booster updates. We meet the second Wednesday of each month unless otherwise noted in the MHS Library at 7pm…our first official meeting is on September 14th kindly join us!

GREEN MEADOW ELEMENTARY SCHOOL BUILDING PROJECT
The Green Meadow Elementary School project team has submitted its second MSBA submission! This submission is called the Preferred Schematic Report (PSR) and it advances the initial existing conditions verification, educational visioning & programming and Owner / Community coordination into multiple design alternatives, shows MSBA the design alternative evaluation process taken by the project team, and highlights which design alternative was ultimately selected at the end of the process.
Below is a link to a Google Drive folder that contains the previous Preliminary Design Program (PDP) submission as well as the recent PSR submission. As always, we thank you very much for your attention to the project, and we’ll continue to keep you informed as the project moves along the MSBA process!
