Blood Drive
Gayman Home and School is proud to sponsor our next blood drive with the American Red Cross on February 17th from 2:30-6:45PM. An estimated 38% of Americans are eligible to give blood or platelets, but of those less than 10% actually donate each year. If you are healthy and eligible, come out to donate.
To donate SIGN UP HERE! Search "Gayman" and then select a time that works for you.
Kids Care Club February At-Home Project - Spread Kindness!
Throughout the month of February, Gayman students can aim to do at least 14 acts of kindness. These acts can be anything on the list (see below) or something they come up with on their own. Each act they do can be written down on a calendar (see below to print at home or stop by the main office for a copy) and then returned to school at the end of the month for a special token of appreciation for spreading kindness in the world.
Any questions or concerns, please reach out to Megan Monforte at meganmonforte9@gmail.com. Thank you!
Calling all Mustangs - iRun for Life
In March we’re bringing the iRun4Life Running Program to Gayman and we need your help!
Run4Life, Inc. is a nonprofit organization established in 2008 with a mission to help combat childhood obesity through its fun, noncompetitive after school elementary school running programs for boys and girls. Our focus is to teach children about exercise, healthy nutrition and giving back to the community. We believe that if children learn to love exercise at an early age and realize how fun it is to feel healthy and strong, then they will maintain an active and healthy lifestyle throughout their lives. Running activities will also give them confidence and positive self-esteem which will carry over into their schoolwork and daily lives. Not only will the children be healthier and stronger each week of training, but they will learn about endurance and resilience. They will learn that being the fastest and winning is secondary to learning patience and building character by supporting their fellow runners. They will be encouraged to try new fruits and vegetables and learn the importance of hydration and healthy eating habits. They will also gain a strong sense of giving back and helping their community by doing 26 good deeds by the end of their running program.
This amazing program started in four elementary schools in 2008 in Central Bucks County and is in 27 elementary schools in 10 school districts in PA and NJ with over 3,000 children participating. The iRun4Life running program is an inclusive activity for all boys and girls and is organized and directed entirely by parent and teacher volunteers at a minimal cost.
What are we looking for right now?
· PARENTS who love fitness and running that can help coach on Wednesday afternoons from 3:30pm – 4:30pm from March 22nd through May 17th.
If you’re interested in supporting the program, please contact me at Lauren.Lennon@hotmail.com or 973-270-4286.
Central Bucks Kids Triathlon
The first annual Central Bucks Kids Triathlon will be held on Sunday, May 21st, 2023, at Central Bucks High School South. This event is open to all Central Bucks students in kindergarten through sixth grade.
This is a FUN, all-inclusive, kids-only event where students of all ability levels are encouraged to “TRI” something new and enjoy a GREAT experience with their peers. The triathlon will take place completely on the closed grounds of Central Bucks High School South where students will swim in the pool, ride their bikes in the parking lot, and run on walkways and the track to complete their event. Students from all fifteen elementary schools will be competing in this event, therefore students will be grouped based on their current grade level. All triathlon participants will earn a CB Kids Triathlon T-shirt and HUGE medal for completing the race. Also, awards will be given to the top finishers in each grade level. Come out, HAVE FUN, and enjoy the CB Kids TRIATHLON!
