The NVCS Board of Directors is excited to announce that there are 4 exceptional candidates to join the Board for the 2021-2022 school year. Each board member will serve 3 years and support the policies of New Vision Charter School.

Teacher Appreciation Week
National Teacher Appreciation Week is May 3-7. Please send your grade level principal an email with your kudos for our teachers so that we can decorate teacher doors with parent and student appreciations for this special week. You can always get creative with how you want to show your appreciation for our amazing teachers during this week as well, the possibilities are endless!

Leadership Corner
K-3 Campus
Just a reminder as the weather gets warmer and we have more workers, to take extra caution in driveline. Please remain off your phones and take an extra look before leaving the parking lot. We want to keep all our students and staff safe.
We are so excited to announce that we have a published writer on the K-3 campus. Mrs. Williamson, 1st Grade Teacher, has written a beautiful book titled the Mother of Monterey Canyon. You can learn more about this amazing book here. What an awesome way to put writing in action for our students. We are so proud of you Ms. Williamson!

4-8 Campus
Four grades done with CMAS, one to go! I cannot tell you how amazing it is to have a building full of supportive, enthusiastic teachers and students who are cheering each other on to do their best on the test! Next week (4/26) our fabulous 6th graders will test in the area of math. If you see a 6th grader this weekend, wish them the best on the test!
Earlier this year NVCS applied to be a part of the Mizel Museum Eyewitness to History Virtual Program. We were chosen as one of a few schools to participate in this program and this week we hosted the program "Countering Hate with Respect" with Mr. Jack Adler. CMAS THANK YOU! Thank you all so much for allowing your students to participate in CMAS testing this spring. It was such a pleasure to see students in person at the 4-8 building. All of the students worked incredibly hard on their tests and they had some fun too! We are all so proud of them. Thank you again for your support.
NO SCHOOL - Friday, April 23rd Advisors will not be available on this day. No new work will be assigned K-3 DIBELS Progress Monitoring : If your student is signed up for progress monitoring, please help your child connect with their advisor at the correct time. Advisor Appointments- Please help your student attend scheduled appointments with their advisors. We love to check-in with students and help them succeed! I-Ready Testing: Please mark your calendars for i-Ready Testing in the month of May. Your student's advisor will give you a more detailed schedule. End of Quarter 4: All work for Quarter 4 will be due by Wed, May 19th by 5pm
