Dear OWL Community,
👉 STUDENTS RETURN TO SCHOOL TUESDAY, JAN 2, 2024.
We look forward to seeing our children back at Greenview Knolls Elementary to kick off the remaining of our 2023-2024 school year! We thank you for your continued partnership in the education of our children.
Please remember, attendance at school is crucial to student success and well-being. We appreciate your support and thank you for sending your child to school everyday.
Please see below for when a child should stay home for illness. Please reach out to our school nurse, Mrs. Farr if you have any questions or concerns.

The American Legion Auxiliary-Annual Essay Contest
The American Legion Auxiliary (ALA) Unit 255 is holding their Annual Essay Contest and hope that St. Mary's County students will participate.
The Americanism Essay Contest theme is "What does Freedom mean to me.” The Auxiliary Unit presents prizes and certificates in each of the five categories listed on the cover sheet.
First place Unit 255 winners receive a $50.00 cash with a certificate of participation. The Auxiliary will present the essays winners to the Southern Maryland District for further competition in the District.
1st place winners will receive $50 and a $50 donation in the student's name will be presented to the Children of Warriors National President Scholarship Fund.
2nd Place Unit 255 winners will receive $40.00 cash with a certificate of participation.
3rd Place Unit 255 winners will receive $30.00 cash with a certificate of participation.
Please include a complete cover sheet with each essay. All the students' information must be included by the school or parent as instructed or the student's essay will be disqualified by the Auxiliary.
The Essay Contest ends on February 1, 2024.
