• On November 8, 2023 EMCSD convened the first Wellness Committee Meeting of the school year. The purpose of the meeting was to provide awareness of the importance of having a strong and active wellness task force/ committee and also set the stage for collaboration between departments to bring to life the purpose of the Wellness Committee, which is to educate and help raise healthy children, and foster a healthy work environment. Nutrition Specialist-RD, Monica Lara MPH, RDN will be reaching out to department leads to help collect the wonderful health & wellness activities that EMCSD is already implementing; allowing room for transparency between departments and potential future collaborations.
• If you or someone you know aspires to keep our children healthy and active, like promoting wellness and/or is looking to become a wellness champion, then partaking in the Wellness Committee Meetings is something to consider!
• Next Wellness Committee is projected to occur early 2024, stay on the lookout for the invitation for the 2nd Wellness Committee.
