Mills Elementary School
November 6, 2023 - November 10, 2023
Happy Birthday, Mills Elementary!
We extend our heartfelt thanks to everyone who joined us for our Fall Festival this past weekend. Celebrating our campus's remarkable 25th anniversary was a momentous occasion made truly special by your presence and participation! Our campus has grown and evolved, but the spirit of unity remains unwavering. A huge THANK YOU to all who contributed, participated, and made the festival a success.
We are especially appreciative to our wonderful Mills PTA festival planning committee and PTA President, May Martin! Countless hours went into ensuring that the festival would be a success!
Veterans Day Assembly
Attention to all veterans, families of veterans, and current parents/caregivers serving in our armed forces:
You are cordially invited to our special Veterans Day Assembly on November 10th! Join us at 8 am in the cafeteria as we gather to honor and express our gratitude for your unwavering commitment and service to our country. Following the assembly, there will be light refreshments served as a small token of appreciation for your dedication and sacrifices.
We look forward to standing together in recognition of your bravery and selfless contributions to our nation. Your presence will make this occasion truly special.
Report Cards: 3 Ways to Access
Students' 1st 9 Week report card grades are available for parent viewing. Here are three ways you can access your child's grades:
Student Documentation Tile
The AISD Portal serves as the primary resource for all services provided online to parents/guardians. This site gives parents/guardians direct access to their student's information, online registration, district-wide information and other commonly-used services. They can also access a current copy of their studentβs report card/progress report via the Student Documentation portal tile.
Frontline Parent Self Serve Tile
The Parent Self-Serve portal tile allows parents/guardians to view their child's schedule, attendance
and grades. Parents/Guardians can email teachers and set notification alerts to receive emails when their child has been marked absent or has a missing assignment. Parent Self Serve will not generate the report cards, but it will provide a tab with studentsβ grades. Parents/Guardians can also update their phone number and email address here, which will automatically update on their contact record in Frontline SIS.
Report Card Hard Copy
Prefer a hard copy of your child's report card? Requests can be made to Kristi Thomason in the front office. Please note that requests may take up to a week for report cards to be available for pick up.
November is Kindness Month
Here are some simple ways that your children (young and old) can demonstrate kindness:
- Make cookies for a neighbor.
- Write down three things you are thankful for about a friend and give it to them.
- Make kindness rocks, and leave them in the park for people to find.
- Clean your room or help make dinner without being asked.
- Help a sibling (or a parent) with a chore.
- Talk to another kid at school who is all by themselves.
- Make a gift for someone.
- Let someone else go first.
- Invite someone new to play with you.
- Offer to help fold clothes or socks.
- Tell your teacher thank you.
- Send a video message or mail a card to a relative just because.
- Donate old books to a local library, or to a family with younger children.
- Teach something new to someone.
- Help clean up after dinner.
- Make someone laugh.
- Go for a walk and clean up trash on your block, or at a local park.

Book Fair is Here!
1) This is a NO CASH book fair. Parents can set up a Scholastic eWallet account for their children HERE. It's easy to create an eWallet for your student. Simply add funds or invite family and friends to contribute.
2) Hours: Monday (11/6), Tuesday (11/7) and Thursday (11/9), from 8:00am to 4:00pm. Parents may purchase books using credit cards, debit cards, or eWallet accounts. On Wednesday, November 8th we'll close at 3:00pm, but then re-open from 5:30-7:00pm for our family night event. Local vendors Rosemary's Baked Treats and Kona Ice will be at Mills that evening as well.
3) All students will be coming to the Book Fair with their classes at a scheduled time during the week of November 6th-10th. We ask that if your child plans to purchase books with their class, their eWallet account should be set up by Monday, November 6th. You can preview books for sale here HERE.
4) Some parents have inquired about donating money for kids who may not be able to buy a book at the book fair. If you would like to donate to the eWallet account link below, those funds will be used for students in need. Thank you for your kindness and generosity!
