Centennial PTO Meeting Minutes
13 February 2024 / 6:00 PM / Centennial Library
Attendance: Kayla Terry, Megan Linstaedt, Katie Suda, Sarah Matcha, Megan Ockert, Mr. Olson, Courtney Buskirk, Angie Hoots, Sue Lothspeich, Amy Lynne
Principal’s Report: Working on continuity with ongoing projects. Working on using trauma informed approaches with the staff. This is ongoing training, initially provided by the district but now is now on the school staff (“train the trainer” mentality). Working to build relationships between staff and students. Working to bring in the behavioral techs to assist with classroom management. This is helping to identify kids that need more support and how we can help them to succeed. For example: 97 students were identified as having inconsistent access to food or food related needs. How can we adapt the school to make sure that the kids are being helped in the best way - - without expecting that the teachers do this individually? How do we build the system to serve the school and ALL of the kids as a whole rather than this student through this means and that student through that means etc.
