A Step-By-Step Guide For PV Families

The first day of the 2023-24 school year, August 22, is rapidly approaching! As we prepare for the year to begin, it’s important that you complete the checklist below so that you and your learner(s) are ready for the year.

PVSD Administration

Each parent/guardian MUST have a Sapphire Community Portal Account. Electronic letters, parent communication, and district notification calls/texts will be distributed using Sapphire. Demographic/Contact information and Medical forms will also need to be updated for each child.

To create an account, go to sapphire.pequeavalley.org > Click Community Portal > Click Apply for a Sapphire Community Portal Account.

Pequea Valley classrooms utilize Schoology and ClassDojo for digital learning and communication. These tools enable our learners, parents/guardians, and facilitators to engage with digital learning materials, collaborate with their peers, and communicate with each other.

IN SCHOOLOGY: As a parent, you will be able to view your child’s general activity within the platform. Your child already has login credentials for Schoology. If you would like to see a more detailed view of their assignments and activity, please use their login credentials. If you have not already done so, you can create a free Schoology parent account by going to www.schoology.com. If you are in need of the unique access code to connect your child/children to your parent account, please contact your child's facilitator, then follow these instructions.

IN CLASSDOJO: Elementary parents/guardians can go to classdojo.com to create a free parent account, find your child's school, and connect with their classroom.

You will need to apply online at www.schoolcafe.com to receive free or reduced meals. If you have already received notification of free meal status this year, there is no need to re-apply. Otherwise, click here to view eligibility and requirements.

If you qualify for meal assistance, you can receive a discount on technology coverage! Make sure you apply and check the "sharing information" section of the application BEFORE completing the Technology Coverage form in Family ID.

To add funds to your child’s meal account and track purchases, go to www.myschoolbucks.com. There is no fee!

All PV learners are assigned a device; K-4 iPads, 5-12 MacBook laptops. Technology coverage is highly recommended and the FIRST incident is covered for FREE (exclusions apply)!

This annual technology fee covers the district’s cost of repairing and/or replacing damaged equipment. Technical and maintenance support for district-issued devices will be provided, as well as loaner devices when needed. *If you choose not to purchase coverage and the device or its accessories are damaged or lost, the parent/guardian is financially responsible for 100% of all repair or replacement costs.*

While in the Family ID portal, please be sure to review all policies with each child in your household. It is important that everyone is aware of the expectations for use. There are electronic signatures required, and the technology fee can be paid via cash, check, money order, or on the Family ID site using PayPal or a credit card.

Parents/Guardians must login to the BusPlanner Transportation Portal to see bus schedule information. In order to access your child’s bussing information, you will need their Student ID number. This information can be found in the Sapphire Community Portal.

Please direct any changes to the Transportation Office by Wednesday, August 16, 2023. Routes are continually being adjusted to meet family needs.
