Solo and Ensemble Contest
On January 31st, our region will be hosting their annual solo and ensemble contest held at Augustana University. The students have been working hard to prepare both in and out of class for this. All of the students have something prepared, and will either be participating in this or performing their selections in class. Each student has chosen to be in a small group, or to perform alone in a solo setting. Those who will be going to Augustana will be listed within the schedule.
The purpose of this contest is to improve the overall musicianship of each student and teach them to work individually or within a group setting. It is a crucial part of their musical education, so we have made it required. We have encouraged students who are not ready to perform in front of a judge to stay back and work within lessons at school with a director to earn any makeup work that would be needed.
More information and scheduling will be coming as soon as possible.
Hy-Vee
Here's how it works:
1. Drop your order in the Hy-Vee box.* (Order forms can be found below).
2. Use your cards at Hy-Vee as if they were cash.
3. A monthly deposit if made into your band student's account equal to 4.75% of your purchased cards.
It's THAT easy!
This is a great way for grandparents, family and friends who want to help enhance your student's music education. Gift cards can be used at any Hy-Vee store and Dollar Fresh Market in Tea, SD.
