Principal's Message
Greetings Springwater Students and Families,
Our first prom in 3 years is this evening! Student leadership has been working hard to make this year's celebration a success. The theme is Enchanted Masquerade.
Today also marks the end of the 12-week grading period. Teachers are busy entering and finaling progress grades that will be available in ParentVue and StudentVue early next week. We will send out a communication once the progress reports are finalized. This means we only have 7 weeks left (plus finals week) until the end of the semester and the end of the school year. Our seniors have just 6.5 weeks left until they graduate!
It has been great to see students at all grade levels (not just graduating seniors) stepping up, retaking tests, and turning in coursework to raise their grades. Remember we have academic support after school Mondays - Thursdays. There is transportation provided home, for those who need a ride.
Next week our seniors have the opportunity to attend a play at Portland Center Stage. Freestyle Love Supreme has been called “An experience that will take you blissfully out of yourself. Freestyle Love Supreme puts you in your happy place” by The Washington Post. We are excited to rekindle our partnership with Portland Center Stage and look forward to future plays next year for all students.
This Tuesday we will be sending home a permission slip so that all students can participate in our end of year trip to Dabney State Park. This annual event was put on hold during COVID. We are excited to get out there again! We spend a couple hours in the morning doing habitat restoration and then the afternoon barbecuing, playing games, and having fun! Please complete and return the permission form as soon as possible.
Please reach out if you have questions or concerns and have a good weekend!

April Spotlight Students
Aaliyah Saucedo
Grade: 9
Interests: I like playing soccer, most of the time. It’s something I’ve always done. I’ve been playing since I was 6.
Favorite subject in school: Earth and Space Science because it’s fun and easy and I enjoy it. And Spanish because it’s also easy and I already speak some.
Favorite thing about STHS: I like the community. It’s very small and everyone knows each other. It’s just nice.
Cyrus Henry
Grade: 10
Interests: Mixing music, playing any kind of sport, teaching in church, and socializing.
Favorite subject in school: Earth and Space Science and Math because in those two subjects there’s only one right answer. You can do it any way, shape, or form, but there’s always going to be just one right answer.
Favorite thing about STHS: The friends and also the teachers, how they make sure you’re doing your work. And then socialization with friends during lunch.
Avery Hansen
Grade: 11
Interests: I love reading and horses, most especially. I’m also slightly interested in art and photography.
Favorite subject in school: I really like English or Art. I love reading. I also really like the English teachers we have here. Ms. Weber and Mr. Ramsey are both great teachers I enjoy working with. I just love art and Ms. Kruse is awesome.
Favorite thing about STHS: The positive community we have here. In middle school, the community wasn’t very strong or very positive. Here, everybody is kind, even if they don’t know you very well.

Whenever the office is not notified of an absence, a call is made home via the automated calling system. If the student is going to be out more than three days, you can call the office or email your student's teachers with a request for homework. If your student is going to be out of school for extended period of time due to a vacation or some other event, please have him/her complete a Pre-arranged Absence Form.
