Principal's Message
Hello Springwater Community,
We are approaching the 12-week grading period! Conferences are right around the corner and a great opportunity to get to know your student's teachers while getting additional information on your student's academic progress. Conference will be held the evening of Tuesday, November 20th and the morning of Wednesday, November 21st. Conferences are arena style: all of the teachers will be gathered in the Commons and you can choose which teachers you visit, in the order of your preference. Wednesday morning is the least busy time to connect with teachers. We do have a number of part-time staff who will be available only for select times during the conference schedule. Please see the schedule below for more information and to confirm all of your student's teachers will be present during your visit.
Our two volleyball teams continue to play weekly games at Reynolds Middle School. If you haven't made it to a game, they are really fun and exciting to watch (and the spectators have great Titan spirit)! Games occur at 4 or 5pm. See the specific dates and times in this issue.
Looking back on the month of October, STHS journalism students visited the University of Oregon for Fall Media Day, attending valuable workshops on all things media. Students with 90% or higher attendance also had the opportunity to attend Portland Center Stage's A Life. Mr. Lurie's Government classes headed down to the Multnomah County Courthouse to talk with judges and lawyers, observe court proceedings, and learn about our legal system. We look forward to additional engaging community learning opportunities in the future.
I hope to see you at our conferences later this month! As always, please don’t hesitate to reach out to your student’s teachers, the main office, or me by phone or email if you have questions or concerns.
Sincerely,
Ryan Blaszak

STHS Student Course Progress Guide
Student Course Progress Guide is here: As mentioned above, we have finalized a quick reference guide that aims to answer the critically important (but often confusing) question: Where and how do I find information about my student’s academic progress? For example, when should a parent look in Synergy ParentVue/StudentVue and when is it best to look in Google Classroom? The guide below will help point you in the right direction so you can efficiently and accurately stay on top of grades and assignments. The guide also includes links to all course syllabi.
Report Cards Online
Beginning this school year, paper report cards will be available by request only. You can access your students progress reports and report cards online through ParentVue. To access the report card from your ParentVue account, just click on the 'report card' button from the menu on the left side of the screen. If you have trouble logging into your ParentVue account or need to get it set up, Please contact Koryna Herreid in our main office. Herreid@gresham.k12.or.us

Springwater Attendance
If your son/daughter is going to be out for the day please call the office (503-261-4600) and let us know the reason why. Whenever the office is not notified of an absence, a call is made home via the automated calling system. If the student is going to be out more than three days, you can call the office or email your student's teachers with a request for homework. If your student is going to be out of school for extended period of time due to a vacation or some other event, please have him/her complete a Pre-arranged Absence Form. If your student needs to leave school early or arrive late due to appointments, please call the office or send a note to excuse their absence.
