Dear Alto Families,
It has been another fantastic week at Alto Elementary! Thank you to all who attended the Holiday Family Fun Night last night. Attendance at this event was incredible, and it was a really fun event for our school community. We are very appreciative to all of the parents who helped volunteer. We couldn’t hold these events without your help! A very special “Thank You” to Kristin Whitten! She gave countless hours to lead and organize this event and did an amazing job.
TOYS FOR TOTS
Our Alto Elementary Early Act group has once again decided to participate in West Michigan's Toys for Tots! Toys for Tots is a program where we donate new/unopened gifts for families in need. All toys must be donated by Wednesday, December 13th. The class with the most toys wins a PIZZA PARTY! No gift is too small. Please watch our total on WZZM morning news!
Kids’ Holiday Shop
Next week, we are excited to again be hosting the Kids’ Holiday Shop. Many students love this opportunity to buy for family members or friends. The gifts are inexpensive, ranging from 25 cents to $15. 10% of sales will go to the school’s fundraising efforts. We intentionally keep the profit % low to keep prices low. Our primary goal with the holiday shop is to provide a fun experience for our students. Thank you to Erin Lewis for organizing this opportunity and to all of our parent volunteers for volunteering on the class shopping days! If writing a check, please make checks payable to “Alto Elementary School.”
Winter NWEA MAP Assessment - All 1st-5th grade students will be taking the Winter MAP assessments. The testing window is 12/4/23-12/22/23.
Acadience Reading Test (Formerly DIBELS) - All K-5 students will complete the Acadience reading assessment. This is a 1:1 reading test administered by our reading intervention staff. The testing window is 12/11/23-12/22/23.
Have a great weekend!
