Principal's Update
Hello Team WB!
We had a wonderful end to the week with a fabulous peace parade to get ready for Martin Luther King, Jr. Day. Students read books and made banners in preparation. Please join us this Sunday from 1-3pm at West Bloomfield Middle School for our annual United We Walk event to celebrate the life and legacy of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Due to the weather, all events will be indoors, include the march.
PTO recently gifted all classrooms with replacement sets of whiteboards, which students use for a variety of purposes in the classroom (math, writing, phonics, and more). Additionally, PTO has purchased a new refrigerator for the staff lounge. Thank you so much to all of our families for the continued support you give to our classroom teachers!
West Bloomfield Education Foundation
The West Bloomfield Education Foundation impacts every grade at every school in the district. This year, Gretchko teachers received over $10,000 in grant funds that are going straight into our classrooms! The WBEF supports us through ONE fundraiser each year--Casino Night! There are four ways to support the WBEF:
- Sponsor our Annual Casino Night Event on 2/2/24
- Attend our Annual Casino Night Event on 2/2/24
- Give online https://www.wbef.org/donate/
- Mail your gift to West Bloomfield Educational Foundation, 5810 Commerce Road, West Bloomfield, MI 48324
NWEA Testing
As I shared before break, our winter NWEA testing will occur on assigned days between January 16th and February 2nd. Look for more information to come from your child's classroom teacher on their specific testing dates. When your days approach, we would love your partnership in helping students get a good night's sleep, a breakfast at home or at school, and a reminder to try their best. I will be sharing a message with students the week before they begin testing, and I'll include this handy visual as a reminder.
Warmly,
Jen Teal
