Wildcats and Families,
The De Soto high school cross country team competed in the KSHSAA 5A State Cross Country Championship at Rim Rock Farm in Lawrence. The Wildcats raced Saturday with three athletes, Vance Krudwig (13), Addison Gillespie (15), and Brooke Bundt (17) earning All-State honors. The girls' team finished 4th overall and the boys' team finished 6th. Taya Swarts (24), Hope Marriott (31), and Kat Meyer (60) contributed to the girls' team score. Luke Swarts (22), Harrison Purkey (34), Luke Vogt (39), and Lyndon Budimlija (45) scored for the boys' team. Congratulations to all of our Wildcat runners!
Congratulations to the DHS Wildcat Soccer team! They defeated Washington HS last Thursday earning a 5A Regional Championship. We host St. Thomas Aquinas HS at 6:00 PM on Tuesday, October 31st in the quarterfinal round.

Our Quarter 1 WildCAT Awards recognition ceremony was held last week. Students were recognized for demonstrating Commitment as part of The WildCAT Way. Each teacher is able to nominate one student for this award each quarter. Thank you to all the families in attendance.

On Saturday, October 28th SAFE and the DHS Leadership class organized a Trunk or Treat. Thank you to all the school groups for participating in the event and to the community for attending.
Congratulations to Micah Tenner and Erin Conrad. Both are our staff Wildcats of the Month for November. Erin serves DHS as a Paraprofessional, and Micah is a social studies teacher. Congrats to both!
We are celebrating Blood Drive Spirit Week with dress-up themes each day of the week. Please review the flyer below. Students are encouraged to participate in a costume contest sponsored by Leadership in Action on Tuesday, October 31st. Masks cannot be over the top of the head or cover your eyes. Administration and teachers have the discretion to ask for any non-health-related masks to be removed. All costumes must adhere to the dress code.
The De Soto Cats in Action Leadership class has been hard at work planning our second annual Veterans Day Assembly. If you know a Veteran, we would love the opportunity to invite them to attend our assembly. Our goal is to honor as many Veterans as possible. If your Veteran is unable to be in attendance, please send in a photo for our slideshow. There is a flyer below with a QR code to sign up to attend. A GREAT OPPORTUNITY TO SUPPORT STUDENTS WHILE EARNING A LITTLE EXTRA INCOME
USD 232 is looking for one or more individuals to split a bus route that have either their LPN or RN licensure. We have some wonderful students with medical needs who are in need of either an LPN or RN to assist them while riding the bus to and from school. The hours are listed below and days to work flexible.
