COGNIA ACCREDITATION
It’s official! After successfully completing both a Diagnostic Review and a three-day Engagement Review virtual visit by Cognia evaluators, Team Success has been awarded full accreditation by Cognia, one of the top educational accreditation organizations in the world.
Becoming accredited means that Team Success meets or exceeds the rigorous research-based educational standards and evidence-based criteria that Cognia uses to determine how well a school functions to meet the needs of all its students.
From academics and school climate to teacher training and instructional strategies, the evaluators looked at everything! They awarded us top scores in 20 of the 30 standards, with an overall score of 350/400 (87.5%). Well done!
Advanced, Honors, and Advanced Placement (AP) courses
To help our students grow as critical thinkers, thoughtful readers, and analytical writers, Team Success offers challenging courses for academically accomplished students.
Team Success offers for middle school students advanced courses. In high school students may take honors courses in math, ELA, science, and social studies as well as AP and CTE courses.
In ninth grade we continue to offer Pre-AP English to all students. Certain eleventh grade students may take AP US History. In twelfth grade, Team Success offers AP English Language and Composition as well as AP Statistics.
All AP students who pass the corresponding end-of-year AP exam will receive college credit in Florida’s public colleges and universities, and therefore save time and money in their post-secondary education.
Career and technical education (CTE) courses
- Accounting,
- Agriscience, or
- Computer Technology.
In their CTE class period, students will work on their chosen courses through Florida Virtual School, under the supervision of Mr. Howe, our Director of College and Career Counseling.
All the students will prepare for and take the industry certification exam for their chosen field of study. These certifications are valuable credentials students can use on their college and work applications; they also serve as strong foundations for further career exploration.
New in Florida: FAST testing replaces the FSA
The Florida Assessment of Student Thinking (FAST) is a progress tracking tool that will be administered three times a year to track your student's progress in learning the Benchmarks of Excellent Student Thinking (B.E.S.T.) standards throughout this school year.
FAST testing replaces the FSA testing we had in years past. End of year tests in Algebra 1, Geometry, Science (in grades 5 and 8), Biology, Civics, and US History remain the same.
All students in grades K to 10 will be tested in reading; all students in grades K-8 will be tested in math. FAST assessments are computer adaptive tests that are taken on a computer. The questions get easier or harder depending on how the student answers, and each student will see different questions.
The first administration of the FAST tests is in August for K-2 ELA and math, and in September for 3-10 ELA and 3-8 math. The second FAST test will be given in January and the third one will be in May. For specific dates, please check the calendar on the school website.
For more information about Florida's state assessment program, visit the portal at https://flfast.org/.
Thank you for supporting your student and encouraging them to do their best during these assessments.
IMPORTANT TESTING DATES IN AUGUST
08/22-08/26/: Grades KG-2 FAST READING - CBT (Computer-based)
08/29-09/02: Grades KG-2 FAST MATH - CBT (Computer-based)
