Level Up with PRIDE - Week #11🎮
Greetings, STEAM Family!
We have successfully completed the 1st Nine Weeks of the 2023-2024 school year, and we could not be more proud of our students and parents who’ve been graciously accepting SDE’s school-wide challenge to “Level Up”! For example, this week, we will celebrate an AMAZING total of 223 students who maintained PERFECT ATTENDANCE for the first nine weeks, as well as those exceptional scholars who’ve earned HONOR ROLL status by maintaining a cumulative grade point average of 90.0 or higher!
Also, SHOUTS OUT to all of our parents/guardians who were able to attend your child’s Parent-Teacher Conference before or within the official conference window (October 10th – 13th). As a result, these students are now eligible to participate in our upcoming Fall Festival/ 1st Nine PRIDE Celebration, provided each student has satisfied each of the additional criteria. Check out the flyer below for specifics!
Finally, this week is National Bus Safety Week, and SDE is reminding all of our students of the importance of showing P.R.I.D.E. in our ride! School buses serve as a common form of transportation in DCS, so in recognition of this noteworthy cause, each day members of our Student Council will share safety tips to help everyone remember that safety is everyone’s responsibility. Please be sure to check your child’s folder and/or book bag, as we will be sending home additional information about next week’s festival and other upcoming events this month!
In the meantime, should you have any questions, please do not hesitate to reach out to your child's homeroom teacher and/or our administrative team at (478) 353-8250. Let's "Level Up" with another fantastic week!

Bus of the Month - September
As part of our school-wide PBIS efforts, SDE is proud to recognize Mr. Jarad Neasman and the students of Bus #24-17 (PURPLE TAGS) for earning the title of "Bus of the Month" for September! These students received the most "thumbs up" as a result of their behavior during the AM & PM bus routes throughout the month. As a reward, the students will receive popsicles to enjoy after their lunch, and Mr. Neasman was awarded a certificate, gift card, and the opportunity to bling out his school bus by proudly displaying SDE's Bus of the Month sign! Way to Go, Purple Tags!!

PRIDE After School Program
As a gentle reminder, beginning this week, the P.R.I.D.E. Afterschool Program will resume for students in grades 2nd - 4th ONLY. Parents, thank you again, for your understanding and cooperation.
Daily Reminders for SDE:
ATTENDANCE MATTERS - Parents, please make sure your child maintains regular attendance and arrives to school in a timely manner. Students are tardy at 8:15 am. Five (5) tardies and/or early dismissals count as one (1) unexcused absence. Student attendance will be a part of criteria used to determine eligibility for school-wide celebrations. Remember, every minute really counts!
- Weekly grade level newsletters will be sent home each Monday, so please check your child's folder and/or book bag.
- The dress code will be enforced DAILY at SDE! Any "Dress Down" days will be communicated in advance. Repeated dress code violations will result in students becoming ineligible to participate in school-wide and/or classroom PRIDE celebrations and events! Please make sure your child adheres to the required dress code. Remember, the P in PRIDE stands for "Personal Responsibility".
