FJVD Weekly Info
We Live the Word!
From the Principal's Desk
Dear Father Doyle Families,
It's been another blessed week at Father Doyle! As we continue our Lenten journey, our students participated in their first weekly Stations of the Cross this past Monday. Thank you to Fr. Woolley and our altar servers for leading us in a beautifully reverent service.
We also began a school-wide Novena to St. Joseph, spouse of the Blessed Virgin Mary, whose feast day we celebrate on March 19th. We have prayed this Novena over the past several years, and St. Joseph has continued to bless our school community! If you'd like to participate, the Novena is attached below under the heading Academic Calendar and Other Documents.
Also, a reminder that our Lenten Food Drive continues next week. The suggested items for next week are tuna and canned meat. Thank you for your generosity!
Lastly, please note that the 2nd Trimester closed today, Friday March 11th. Report Cards for 2nd Trimester for grades K-8 will be sent home in hard copy on Friday, March 18th. In addition, middle school report cards will be available via the FACTS Family Portal.
Please stay up to date with the latest news and information by carefully reviewing the updates below:
Early Dismissal and 4-Year Strategic Plan update
Monday, March 14th is an early dismissal day with dismissal at 1:30pm. As many of you are aware, the school is in the midst of drafting a 4-year strategic plan leading up to our next 10-year NEASC accreditation visit. Faculty and staff will be completing work on the initial draft of this plan on Monday. This draft will then be shared with all interested families at our Family Review Nights coming up on Monday, March 21st and Thursday, March 31st at 7:00pm. There will be in-person and Zoom attendance options. Please mark your calendars and RSVP at the link here. Thank you to all of our teachers, staff, parents, and community members who have contributed to our planning efforts! We look forward to transforming the future of Father Doyle School!

COMING SOON: FJVD Read-a-thon!
The Annual Read-a-thon is returning to Father Doyle School!
Read-a-thons get your reader excited about reading and give friends and family the opportunity to encourage your child to read even more!
Our Read-a-thon will start Monday, March 28, 2022. About one week before our Read-a-thon starts we will send home instructions on how to activate your reader's personal page. This is where you will be able to view and record their progress. We encourage you to activate your reader’s account at that time by clicking on https://www.read-a-thon.com/readers/r/IQUXHb/1 and following the simple instructions.
We've chosen a Read-a-thon because it will not take much of your time, it gives your child a reason to read, and promoting regular reading helps in the development of stronger reading skills. We hope everyone can participate!
Scheduling a Test for Your Symptomatic Student
You can schedule that test here: https://bit.ly/FJVDSymptomaticPCR
Please note, the link will be updated each week with the days that PCR testing is available. You do not need a new link each week.
We are only able to offer drive-up PCR testing on certain days based on the availability of our nurses. Thank you for your understanding!

Aluminum Can Tab Collection
What: Aluminum can tabs are being collected
Why: To support the Ronald McDonald House in Providence
How can you help? Save can tabs and send them in to Mr. Godin’s room.
Bottle Cap Drive
We’re excited to share that our school is part of the Coca-Cola Give program. This provides new funding opportunities to help improve learning environments for students. The best part? Donations don’t come out of your own pocket. When you make Coca-Cola purchases, you simply send in bottle caps or product codes from boxes of beverages and our school receives a donation.
All caps and codes should be sent to Mr. Godin. Codes will be entered on one account to gain larger and quicker donations.
Thank you!
