2023 Wallin Scholarship Recipient
The Wallin Education Partners Scholarship is a four-year scholarship which includes not only financial aid, but robust advising, a wide array of workshops and affinity group gatherings as well as college to career guidance. It is a very competitive, multidimensional application that considers many aspects of a student's high school experience including academic performance, community involvement, extracurriculars, work and family responsibilities, as well as the essays submitted.

Spring Music Concerts
Looking to attend the Band, Orchestra or Choir Spring Concerts? You can purchase tickets ahead of time! The Band Spring Concert is being held on Thursday, May 18th at 7:00 PM in the Auditorium.The Orchestra Spring Concert is being held on Monday, May 23rd at 7:00 PM in the Auditorium. The Choir Spring Concert is being held on Wednesday, May 25th at 7:00 PM in the Auditorium.

Community Scholarship Ceremony
Senior Class Meeting
There will be a Senior Class Meeting on Monday, May 22nd during advisory from 10:16 - 10:46 AM. All PESO and early graduates are encouraged to attend for information related to graduation.
Chromebook Return - Thursday, June 1st During 5th Hour
Senior students will turn in their Chromebooks and power cords during their fifth hour class on Thursday, June 1, 2023. Early return of these items will not be accepted. If you are planning on being absent that day, you will have to turn in your Chromebook at a later date. When students turn in their Chromebooks and power cords, they will receive a printed receipt. They will need to present this signed receipt to receive their graduation caps and gowns on Friday. If a student has lost or damaged their Chromebook or power cord, they will need to take care of their fines before receiving their graduation caps and gowns. If a student fee has already been assessed, the fee may be paid through FeePay. If a student has not yet been assessed a fine but realizes that they will be assessed a fee due to a lost or damaged Chromebook or power cord, they should bring sufficient funds to cover their fines. The following is a breakdown of amounts charged for each item:
- Tier 1 damage examples: Back cover, bottom cover, camera, key replacements, wifi card - $30
- Tier 2 damage examples: Battery, hinges, palmrest, trackpad - $80
- Tier 3 damage examples: Motherboard (won't power on with charge), Screen, Numerous damaged components - $120
- Lost Charger - $35
- Lost Pen - $49
- Lost Chromebook - $250
- TPP Deductible - $15
Seniors' Last Day
The final day for Seniors will be Friday, June 2nd. The schedule for the day will look as follows:
1st hour: Final Chromebook/Material collection
Senior Meeting: Seniors will be released at 8:30 to head down to the Gym for a quick meeting
2nd hour: Cap and Gown Distribution
Senior Breakfast to follow
Seniors who have not finished all of their requirements for graduation will continue to work with teachers throughout the day to complete coursework in order to receive their cap and gowns.
Commencement Ceremony Sunday, June 4th
Our Commencement Ceremony will take place on Sunday, June 4th at 7:00 PM at the Maturi Pavilion on the University of Minnesota Campus.
Senior Final Transcript Request - Deadline June 2nd
We need ALL of you to fill out the 2023 Andover High School Final Transcript Request whether you are going to college, military, trades, or workforce. It is a quick 5 questions. This is how we know which college you need your transcript sent to.
To access the survey in Naviance, follow these steps:
1. Log into your Lock & Key
2. Click on the Naviance App
3. Click on the “About Me” tab (upper right hand corner)
4. Scroll down and click on Surveys From Your School
5. Click 2023 Andover High School Final Transcript Request
Colleges require final transcripts to be sent as a proof of graduation. Without completing this step, your enrollment at college could be delayed. Please email Mr. Feigum (eric.feigum@ahschools.us) if you have any questions.
College Decision Day 2023
This year Seniors made their final decisions on their plans for next year on Monday, May 1st. You can enjoy the video celebrating some of our Seniors here. Congratulations!
Senior Party
The 2023 Senior Class Party is scheduled for Monday, June 5th, 2023 from 5 - 9 PM at Eveland Family Farm. This year's theme is "Cinco de Junio" a fiesta party. We will include games, prizes, entertainment, food trucks, photo ops and much more! You can view more information and details at the Senior Class Party website. The planning committee is looking forward to this event to celebrate the Andover High School Class of 2023!
*The senior party is organized solely by volunteer parents and IS NOT sponsored by Andover High School or Anoka-Hennepin ISD#11.
Counseling Office Information
Summer School Registration - Make Up Credit Only
Who: Grade 9-11(Grad Years 2024, 2025, 2026)
Where: Regional HS- Coon Rapids
When: Session I - June 20th - June 30th (Juneteenth will be honored June 19th)
Schedule:
Monday - Friday from 8:00 AM - 1:00 PM depending on how many classes you need to take
(3 class periods) 8:00 - 9:40, 9:40 - 11:20 and from 11:20 - 1:00
- Study hall is provided for those that need bussing and don't need three classes. The school bus transportation drops students off at 8:00 AM and picks up at 1:00 PM.
- Study Hall is not required if students provide their own transportation. Students can come for the class/period they are scheduled.
- Brunch is served daily.
Deadlines:
Deadline to submit referrals for guaranteed transportation will be Monday, May 1st.
Grade 12 (Grad Years 2023, 2022, 2021) and Multilingual Program-Technical HS

PSEO Students
Just a reminder- if you are a returning student to PSEO for the Fall 2023, you do not need to complete another application, but you will need to complete the NOSR form. This needs to be completed each semester.
As you are starting to register for Fall classes at the college, please send the schedule to your counselor and let them know if you plan to take any classes at Andover.
If you are full time at the college and do not plan to take any classes at the HS, please denote that as well.
News from the Youth Services Coordinator
Leo Club - Sustainability Projects
Andover Thrifts - In an effort to address the environmental ramifications of “fast fashion” the Leos held a thrift shop at school during lunch, and after school. They were able to raise $135, which was donated to Climate Generation, a local non-profit that builds climate literacy. All of the leftover clothing was donated to Hope4Youth (a local shelter and service provider for unhoused youth). Hope4Youth was very excited to receive all of the nice clothing!
Elementary School Book Reading - In alignment with the Leos’ year-long focus of addressing sustainability, on April 19th they went to Andover Elementary to read the book The Curious Garden to second graders. Along with the reading, they planted a sunflower seed for the class to watch grow.
The Leos win Silver at Multiplying Good’s Spring Competition
Each year the Leo Club focuses on an impact project, and coordinates service projects around that theme. This year, the Leos chose to focus on sustainability. On Thursday, April 20th, Leo leaders attended Multiplying Good's annual spring competition. At this competition, students from the metro area presented on the service projects they’ve completed throughout the school year. In front of a panel of judges, the Leos shared the impact of the service work they completed this school year, and they won the title of Silver Leadership team, Congratulations!
Service Opportunities
Is your student looking for volunteer opportunities? If so, have them join the Youth Service google classroom (using join code je2x6nu). Here, they will find a variety of service opportunities in the community.
Students can also attend Drop in for Service. Drop in for Service provides an opportunity for Andover students to obtain service hours during late start, right here at school! Volunteers will complete in-school service projects to benefit various non-profits in our community. For dates and times, please click here.

Tech Protect: Device Protection Plan
Device Protection Plan available for families with students assigned district Chromebooks
Technology plays an important role in preparing students for life, and Chromebooks are utilized as a daily learning tool in Anoka-Hennepin middle and high school classrooms. Anoka-Hennepin students in grades 6-12 are assigned a Chromebook from the school district to ensure access to technology systems that support classroom learning. As careful as students and schools are, accidents do happen each year - and hundreds of Chromebooks are returned at the end of the school year with damages.
Secondary students at some grade levels will get to keep their Chromebook over the summer months, and families can enroll in the device protection plan for the upcoming school year (2023-24), now.
Students that qualified for free or reduced price meals in the current school year (2022-23) may receive the Device Protection Plan coverage, if they enroll - at no cost.
The Technology Protection Plan is optional; it is not required, however, by electing not to participate in the Protection Plan, families may be required to reimburse the school district for the replacement or repair of damaged Chromebooks assigned to their student/s. Damaged or broken screens may cost between $100 to $190 depending on parts needed; or the replacement cost for the entire device could be up to $410.
Families can opt-in to the Device Protection Plan by logging into A-HConnect, and selecting "My Student Information," and "Fees." Parents must select or decline coverage under the Device Protection Plan.
The plan cost is $20 per student or $60 per family per school year.
If the student qualifies for free or reduced-price school meals in the 2022-23 school year, the cost of the Protection Plan will be reduced to $0.
Repairs with the Protection Plan are subject to a $15 deductible.

Substance Use Community Resource Event to be held Saturday, May 6
Presented by Anoka County Chemical Health Collaborative
The Anoka County Chemical Health Collaborative welcomes members of the community to attend an educational gathering focused on substance abuse and community wellness. Prevention and assistance resources will be available to those struggling, or those with loved ones struggling.
The Substance Use Community Resource Event will be held from 10 AM to 2 PM on Saturday, May 6th at the Anoka County Sheriff’s Office, 13301 Hanson Blvd. NW, Andover. Presentations will include:
"Hidden in Plain Sight" exhibit, for parents to learn about items to be aware of.
Vaping presentation to learn about trends, health risks and how to prevent use of.
Displays of vaping devices, drug paraphernalia and narcotics to learn what they look like.
Opportunities to ask questions.
Parent Engage 360 Podcast Episode 32 Part 1
School Resource Officers working in partnership with Anoka-Hennepin schools
The latest Parent Engage 360 Podcast is the first of a two-part series focused on school safety. In Episode 32 Part 1, host Liz Burgard sat down with Champlin Park High School principal Mike George and City of Brooklyn Park Police Officer and School Resource Officer (SRO) Andy Dickman to learn more about the role of the SRO in Anoka-Hennepin and their vital role in safety, building relationships and getting people comfortable in talking with law enforcement.
Anoka-Hennepin coordinates SROs in 12 schools across the district and maintains relationships with local law enforcement. These partnerships play a vital role in protecting the safety of students and staff districtwide.

The Parent Engage 360 Podcast aims to provide parents and guardians with knowledge from experts in chemical health, mental health, internet safety and more, as well as the tools needed to support their children. Anoka-Hennepin hopes that providing timely and helpful information through the Parent Engage 360 podcast series will strengthen the bond between school and home with resources parents and guardians can use and share with others.
