The election is less than two weeks away!

Romeo Community Schools voters will go to the polls in about 10 days to cast their vote on two proposals: a non-homestead operating millage renewal and a sinking fund renewal. If approved, neither proposal will affect the tax rate on a homeowner's primary residence (the home in which you live). This election is important because it will provide millions of dollars for the support of our students' educational programs and their school facilities.

All registered parents can vote in one of three ways:

• If you requested an absentee ballot, don’t forget to drop it off at your local clerk today!

• Take advantage of in-person early voting beginning this Saturday, Feb. 17 through Sunday, Feb. 25. Early Voting Information Sheet

• Vote on Election Day, Feb. 27, at your regular voting precinct.

Anyone interested in more information about a second educational tour to Costa Rica for the summer of 2025, please attend the informational meeting at RHS. The meeting will be on Wednesday, March 6th, at 6:30 pm in room A217 at RHS. The 2024 trip to Costa Rica is no longer accepting registrations, but this is a wonderful travel opportunity for 9-12 grade students who want to plan ahead for the summer of 2025. RHS Parent Club

The next RHS Parent Club meeting is on Tuesday, March 19 from 3:00-4:00 in the HHP Commons.

Parent Information Event

Attention RCS Parents! The 2024 State of the District - Parent Informational Event is coming on Thursday, February 22nd, 6pm at RHS. We are pleased to share the linked Breakout Session Overview document for your review. All RCS parents are invited to attend (this event is not for students/children). Our informational sessions provide offerings pertinent to parents with children at all levels. We hope to see you there.

*NEW* Local Scholarships for Juniors and Seniors:

NEW LOCAL SCHOLARSHIPS POSTED: Additional local scholarships for RHS seniors were posted on February 15 and will be due in the BEI office by 3:00 PM on March 8. This set of scholarships requires student applicants to print and complete paper applications. All relevant information and links can be found on the counseling website and on the Local Scholarship Flyer.

All Romeo juniors and seniors have the opportunity to apply for scholarships through the Four County Community Foundation. All Four County Scholarships are submitted through their website. Four County Scholarships were posted on December 1, 2023 and must be submitted by March 1, 2024. It is recommended that students begin their online applications early in the scholarship window. Most of the posted scholarships are for seniors. There is one Four County scholarship available for juniors. RHS seniors also have the opportunity to apply for scholarships through the Sandbox Foundation. The Sandbox Foundation application window is January 1 2024-March 1, 2024. All local scholarship information can also be found on our website.

SAT Prep Workshops

From the MISD: Just as a friendly reminder, registration is open for the Student Digital SAT Prep Workshops. Unfortunately our first offering was cancelled due to inclement weather, but we have a few more dates that still have openings! We encourage junior students to join us and learn more about these changes to prepare for the exam this spring.

This one-day workshop will be held in-person at the MISD, with multiple dates to choose from:

• February 3, 2024 (limited spots, deadline to register is Friday, January 26)
• March 9, 2024
• March 16, 2024

Registration is available online at events.misd.net (type “Student Digital SAT” in the search bar).

FAFSA HELP

Virtual FAFSA workshops are available through Oakland University to help students and parents with completing the FAFSA. Virtual Sign Up Dates

Class of 2024 Baccalaureate Service

This year's baccalaureate service for RHS grads will be on Tuesday, June 4th at 7pm at Barnabo Field (rain location in the RHS gym). Class of 2024 Yard Signs

Yard signs are now available to order: Class of 2024 Yard Sign Order Form. Last day to order senior yard signs is April 5th.

• SANP tickets will be sold at lunches on Feb 21, 22 and 23 from 10:30 to 12:30. You can also buy a ticket via the attached flier (attached) Don’t forget price of ticket will increase after April 1st.
