Reminders About Attendance & Transportation
Please report your child's absence via our attendance email: maryfrankattendance@phm.k12.in.us OR by calling our office (574-272-0340). You may also report late arrivals due to appointments in the same way. Students who are leaving early for an appointment will be called to the office upon your arrival.
Families need to request "vacation" days by emailing Mrs. Heerschop at cheerschop@phm.k12.in.us. No vacation days are approved or allowed during statewide testing windows. Those are as follows:
IREAD-3 (3rd grade only): March 6 - 17
ILEARN (3rd - 5th): April 17 - May 12
Transportation:
Any allowable transportation changes need to be communicated to the office before 1:30pm each day. We greatly appreciate the communication with teachers via Class Dojo, but our office cannot see those messages, and teachers are unable to forward them using that platform. It is very helpful if you communicate with the office, as well as the teacher.
Changes in Speech Staff
There is some change in staffing for our students this year who receive speech & language therapy services. Abbey Kaiser and Shannon Harrington, who many of you already know as they have worked at Mary Frank for several years, have been assigned Grades 1, 3 & 5 this year. Additionally, they will be working with our PennPALS Preschool in the 4/5's classes and small groups.
The new speech-language pathologist, Callie Bratten-Woerheide, will be servicing students in Kindergarten, grades 2 and 4, PennPALS Preschool in 2/3's classes, the Early Learning Academy, and small groups.
