It has been a joy to see our students participate in our Fun Before Winter theme days. I want to wish you all a fun and safe Winter Break. When we return in January, the Main Office and entrance will be temporarily relocated to Bungalow B-1, located off Barbanell St. In addition, the Josie Ave. valet drop-off will be temporarily located on Barbanell St. Additional communication will be emailed and posted on our Instagram page. If possible, please check or review that information before returning to school in January.

There is a feature allowing you to report your child's absence online, to make it easier and more convenient for our Emerson families. Additionally, you can even upload Dr. notes, Dentist or Orthodontist notes, or anything else needed to clear your child's absence. Please note that it may take up to 48 hours for the absence to show its been cleared. Please expect to receive a phone call even after the absence has been reported.

All students are required to wear a uniform at Emerson. Our uniform consists of red, white, or navy blue collared shirts or blouses, school spirit t-shirts, and navy blue or khaki shorts, skirts, and jumpers. Hats may be worn for sun protection outdoors. Hats should be Emerson hats or solid navy blue or red. Shoes must have closed toes and heels and should be suitable for physical education and play. No flip flops, sandals, or crocs. A more detailed description of the dress code can be found on our school website.

We love seeing you walk your pets to school with your student(s) but we have a few reminders.

• Pets are not allowed on campus in the walkways leading to gates and beyond
• Please do not allow students to pet your pet
• Please clean up after your pet.

Safety concern: More parents are driving the wrong way on the one way street off of Willow, please adhere to all parking and directional signs at all times. Also we noticed a few cars unattended in the middle of the street can cause traffic to back up and possible accidents. Please do not park in the bus loading zone or in red zone, or turn your hazards on and leave your car double parked and unattended with/without other children inside. Safety is our utmost concern, and we thank you in advance for making sure we keep everyone safe and ticket free. Our school neighbors have kindly asked that we remind parents to NOT block their driveways when dropping off and picking up, OR, leave any children in their cars unattended while walking to drop off other siblings to the school campus.

There are some classrooms that still don't have a Room Representative or Room Parent. Check your email in the upcoming days to see if your students classroom is one of them. Please consider helping out if one is still needed - your students teacher would appreciate it!

Ms. Lang our school counselor will facilitate these lessons and send communications prior to the start of the lessons.

We need to know how to reach you! Please make sure you provide the most accurate information to receive texts, e-mails or phone calls, and in case of an emergency. Parents are now required to verify or update their information, including emergency contacts, online in their ParentVue account. We will no longer send home emergency cards.
