There's always something fun going on at Fletcher Elementary. Today, Mrs. Duncan's class went on a field trip to the Living Coast Discovery Center to learn more about ocean animals and our local ecosystem. On Wednesday, we celebrated surpassing our philanthropy fundraising goal for the American Heart Association by turning Principal Friedenberg into Principal Sundae. Students put whipped cream, walnuts, cherries, sprinkles, and chocolate sauce all over Mr. Friedenberg's head! Pictures in our highlights section below.

Next week is our SPRING OPEN HOUSE on THURSDAY from 5-6:30PM. Everyone's invited! We're also solidifying our educational partnership with Navy Squadron VRM-50 with a signing ceremony on Friday.

You will need to register and add your student by name and student ID. Then you can preorder a yearbook for only $10.50 (this includes the processing fee).

We are so excited to announce our plans for the first Open House at Fletcher in two years! The theme for the night is "Choose Your Own Adventure". Festivities will start off in the lunch arbor at 5:00 with and introduction by Principal, Jeff Friedenberg. Then families will choose their own adventure and have the opportunity to visit six different stations around campus: a chat with the Principal, a healthy cooking lesson, classroom showcase, community resource tables, our beautiful new mural, and the playground. Students will receive a stamp on their activity card at each station. At the end of the night, be sure to turn in your card to be entered into a drawing for a really awesome prize! (Still working on what that prize is, but it'll be cool, we promise!)

This week's Student of the Week is Echo in Ms. Massion's class. Echo is a wonderful student inside and out. She shows up to class with a positive attitude and ready to take on the day! She offers support to those around her, whether it be academics or inviting a friend to join the recess group. It's so great to have Echo in the classroom for these reasons and so many more reasons!

Congratulations Echo, and thank you for being a phenomenal Falcon!

Although we want students to be in school each day for class, we know that absences will happen. It is important that parents report their student's absence within 24 hours. Absences can be reported via our online form, phone or email. Please let us know if you have any questions and thank you for your support.

San Diego Unified School District now has a new testing site for all students and staff. If your student is showing symptoms at home or at school, this new resource will provide a quick and easy way to get test results so they can return to school as soon as possible. Testing will now be available at the Education Center located at 4100 Normal Street, 92103. It's only FIVE MILES away from Fletcher!

The site is open from 7:00AM - 7:00PM MONDAY through FRIDAY and 8:00AM - 5:00PM on Saturday and Sunday. No appointments necessary! Prior to testing, if your student isn't already registered to receive weekly testing on site, families will need to register for a Primary Health Portal account. https://my.primary.health/l/sdusd_testing.
