A Message from Ms. Petru
Dear Thundercat families, September 17, 2021
I hope everyone had a good remainder of the week and that everyone has returned safe from the tropical storm.
This year RTMS is embarking on our No Place for Hate Campaign. This nationally recognized organization allows campuses to provide lessons and education on bullying and cyberbullying. Below is the link for the No Place for Hate Campaign.
I want to thank everyone for his or her continued support of Thundercat Country. If you ever need anything, please do not hesitate to contact any grade level assistant principal or myself.
Go Thundercats!

Help Take Care of THUNDERCAT COUNTRY
Thundercat Country,
I want to make you aware of a social media challenge that is going around which unfortunately is now impacting the Thundercat community. In a viral video shared September 6th, a student unzips their backpack pulling out a stolen hand sanitizer dispenser with a title, "Only a month into school and got this absolute devious lick." These "Devious Lick" challenges have received tens of millions of hits and encourage students to vandalize campuses by stealing/destroying soap dispensers, signage, technology, and mobile kiosks. In the last week, we have had soap dispensers ripped from the wall and thrown in the toilet, and ceiling tiles pushed into the ceiling.
My Student is Quarantining...
RTMS Parents,
Students staying home with COVID or to quarantine should be logging in to SCHOOLOGY to complete school work and keep up with assignments, if they are feeling well enough to complete work.
If your student needs help accessing SCHOOLOGY please use the attached “SCHOOLOGY Student Job Aid” to assist.
Remote Conferencing for Quarantined Students
Remote conferencing instruction launched 9/7/2021 with 214 PK-12 students engaging in virtual synchronous instruction. This time is for students who are temporarily unable to attend face-to-face instruction due to a medication condition, and allows students to continue engaging in learning experiences and receive ongoing support related to the face-to-face instruction that their peers continue to receive on campus. Please visit the Remote Conferencing website for additional information.
Any students or staff who missed taking their yearbook photos this week should plan on taking theirs on October 12. The exact time and location will be announced at a later date, but photos will take place on campus during the school day. The yearbook staff wants everyone included in the yearbook, so please take your photo as no virtual photo submissions will be accepted this year.
Photo orders can be made through this link.
Boy Scouts of America
The Sam Houston Area Council Boy Scouts of America has recently shared PeachJar flyers with all campuses to promote the Scouts program for students. Their program embraces character growth, education, citizenship and leadership for our youth. Given the recent pandemic, many of their planned meetings on campuses have been postponed. Watch this 30-second YouTube video to highlight the program.

Late Bus Challenges
In an effort to keep you informed, when RTMS experiences late busses in the PM, a schoology message will be sent between 4:35PM - 4:50PM.
If you would like to give permission for your student to walk in the event of PM late bus arrival, please send an email to your student's grade level administrator.

Effective September 7th, late student bus pick ups will be in the bus lane on the left side of RTMS.
Thank you for helping us keep our student's safe.
Arrival & Dismissal Reminder
The safety of our Thundercats is top priority and we appreciate everyone adhering to our dismissal process.
Parents please be kind to our RTMS neighbors and do not drop off or pick up students in those areas. Please use our car rider line. Thank you for your understanding in keeping our Thundercats safe and our neighbors safe too.
· If you plan to drop off/pick up your student by vehicle, please remain in the RTMS designated car rider line. Thank you in advance for following the car rider map.
Walkers and bike riders will be released after car riders.
Thank you for helping to keep our thundercats safe !
