Cedar Hill To Visit Top-Ranked Duncanville
The Cedar Hill High School Football Team will visit Duncanville, the #1 Team in Texas Class 6A and the seventh-best team in the United States. The Panthers (3-0, 1-0) are the defending 6A Division I State Champions.
Cedar Hill will make its first trip to Panther Stadium since 2020, when the Panthers won, 28-14.
The Longhorns are coming off a 39-14 loss to Waxahachie (4-0, 1-0) in their 6A-11 District Opener. Here's a photo gallery from the game.
Cedar Hill outgained Waxahachie, 246-194, and trailed 20-14 at halftime, but a total of four turnovers proved to be difficult to overcome.
Cedar Hill reached several milestones in the game with Ashton Blake (10 carries for 48 yards) scoring his second rushing touchdown in as many games. Receiver Cedric Mills (three receptions for 49 yards) caught his first touchdown pass of the season.
Le'Keldrick Bridges caught two passes for 20 yards and a touchdown. He's caught three of the Longhorns' four touchdown passes this season.
Three Longhorns (Blake, Zhaiylen Scott and Cedederick Castleberry) now have at least 150 rushing yards on the season.

Meet The Panthers
Duncanville has recorded consecutive shutouts, 44-0, over Rockledge (Florida) and 76-0 over Mansfield Lake Ridge in its District 6A-11 Opener last Friday.
Keelon Russell passed for 177 yards and two touchdowns against the Eagles. Running backs JaQualon Armstrong, Caden Durham and Devine Green rushed for two touchdowns apiece in the victory.
Duncanville head football coach Reginald Samples has been a head coach for 34 years. He arrived at Duncanville in 2015 and won his first State Championship last season.
Blackney Wins 200th As Lady Longhorns Make History With Win Over Waxahachie
Last Friday was an evening of milestones for the Cedar Hill High School Volleyball Program at Milson Gymnasium.
They earned a 3-0 sweep of Waxahachie -- their first victory over WHS in more than 15 years.
CHHS head volleyball coach Amanda Blackney earned her 200th career victory.
CHHS and WHS will meet again on October 10 in Waxahachie.
Cedar Hill (21-6, 2-1) won its 21st match of the season. The Lady Longhorns haven't won more than 20 matches in a season, in more than 15 years. The team finished 20-15 last season.
Cedar Hill, which hopes to qualify for the playoffs for the first time since 2018, will host Dallas Skyline on Tuesday and visit Duncanville on Friday.

Cedar Hill Alumni Update
- Liberty University sophomore quarterback Kaidon Salter scored a career-high six touchdowns in a 55-27 win at Buffalo on Saturday. Salter completed 16 of 26 passes for 344 yards and five touchdowns for the Flames (3-0). He also had 10 carries for 66 yards and a score. Teammate Amarian Williams had three tackles, including two tackles for a loss. The Flames will visit Florida International on Saturday.
- Tulsa redshirt senior wide receiver Kamdyn Benjamin caught two passes for a career-high 61 yards in a loss to Oklahoma on Saturday. The Golden Hurricane (1-2) will visit Northern Illinois on Saturday.
- Texas Tech freshman defensive back Jalon Peoples had a career-high three tackles in a 41-3 win over Tarleton State. The Red Raiders (1-2) will open Big 12 Competition on Saturday at West Virginia.
- Kentucky junior offensive lineman Courtland Ford and the Wildcats (3-0) defeated Akron, 35-3. Kentucky will open SEC Competition on Saturday at Vanderbilt.
- Stephen F. Austin freshman running back Jaylen Jenkins made his collegiate debut on Saturday. He had 11 carries for 28 yards as the Lumberjacks (2-1) defeated Northwestern State, a 41-7, in a rivalry game. They'll host Austin Peay on Saturday.
Chambers, Green Lead in Debuts With New Programs
- Jackson State Graduate Student Morghan Chambers had a total of five kills as the Tigers (4-6) competed in the TSU/Belmont Tournament in Nashville. JSU will open SWAC Competition on Friday vs. Mississippi Valley State.
- TCU Graduate Student Brianna Green, a Collegiate High School Graduate, had a total of 11 kills as the Horned Frogs (7-4) defeated Hawaii and Florida State over the weekend. TCU will open Big 12 Competition on Thursday at Kansas State.
Cedar Hill Cross Country Headed to Fort Worth
The Cedar Hill High School Cross Country Team's scheduled meet at Mansfield Legacy last Friday was cancelled due to rainy weather and course conditions.
The Longhorns will travel to Dutch Branch Park in Fort Worth on Friday for "Prowl in the Park"

Cedar Hill Tennis to Host "Battle of Belt Line"
Texas Rangers Help Cedar Hill Baseball Purchase A Tarp
The Texas Rangers are in the midst of a pennant chase against Houston and Seattle.
But the Texas Rangers Foundation (the franchise’s charitable wing) still found time to recognize, and present, an $8,000 grant to the Cedar Hill High School Baseball Program. It was presented during a ceremony last Saturday at Globe Life Field before a game against the Oakland Athletics.
