A Letter From Your Administrators
Welcome Back, Wildcats!
While we have all enjoyed and relished the warm weather, family time, and relative relaxation of Summer Break, we’ve missed our students and the energy they bring to our campus! By mid-August, administrators, counselors, and secretaries are all busily preparing for students’ arrival, teachers begin to manifest the creative ideas that crept into their thoughts during their time off, and our amazing custodians and food service workers begin to realize they miss the buzz and positivity that youthful crowds bring into our buildings! We hope our students, too, have enjoyed rest and family time and are beginning to miss the satisfaction and pride that comes from learning new things and interacting with their peers.
As we embark upon the 2023/2024 school year, we would like to make certain families and students are informed and prepared for all that high school entails. Please note that, this year, on August 31st, every school in the Oak Harbor School District will be holding an Open House from 3:30 until 6:30 p.m. This will be an opportunity for students to tour the buildings and meet teachers and other staff members. Additionally, Oak Harbor High School invites families during that time to attend one of two assemblies that cover information essential to our students’ and families’ success. Assemblies will be held in the high school gym at 4:00 and 6:00 p.m. Both of these presentations will be exactly the same so you do not need to attend both.
Oak Harbor School District is also making an adjustment to student schedules in that Mondays will now be the weekly “early release” day. High school students will be dismissed at 1:30 each Monday instead of Wednesday afternoon.
We look forward to seeing all of you and continuing to build upon partnerships to help support our students as they grow.
Sincerely,
Your OHHS Administrative Team

PARENT SQUARE
Over the summer, our district transitioned to a new platform for communication and website management. Be sure to set up your account with Parent Square so you can receive communications from the district. Parent Square consolidates all the communications you need for each of your students and you decide how and when you would like to receive communications. (insert account signup link).
This is also a good time to verify that your Skyward account information is up to date and accurate. Parent Square uses the contact information in Skyward to connect families and students with information that is pertinent to them.
THE GREAT CHROMEBOOK SWAP
Oak Harbor Public Schools has purchased new, updated Chromebooks for each OHHS student. To exchange or pick up their Chromebooks, students need to come to The Great Chromebook Swap on August 28 from 10 - 2 in the back bus loop. Library and IS staff will be in a tent. This is not a drive by/through event, just a parking lot event. Entry will be from Heller Road, exit out by the tennis courts. There will be signs to help direct traffic
New Chromebooks will be distributed to students attending the OHHS campus.
Incoming Freshman need to come and get a Chromebook. Returning students need to bring their Chromebook, *case and charger to exchange for a new one.
If students are unable to come to this event, we will be setting up again in the gym during picture day on September 7.
On August 28th, parking passes for the 2023/24 school year may be purchased during the following hours:
9:00 - 11:00 for Seniors
12:30 - 2:30 for underclassmen
Please print this form and have it completed with vehicle information and parent/guardian signature. Forms are available in the front office for those who do not have access to a printer. Passes for the entire year are $5 and a replacement pass is $5.
Route assignments will take place at the end of August for students who live outside of th one-mile radius of their home school attendance area. All families needing transportation to or from school are required to fill out a transportation request form. If you have any questions, please contact our transportation team at 360.279.5570.
