January Edition
Happy New Year!
We hope you and your family had a wonderful holiday and Happy New Year! As we begin this 2023 year, we may be thinking about New Year's resolutions and goals we have for ourselves, our children, and family this year. Some of us may want to set aside a day for family dinner or board game night, or maybe we want to set some healthy habits such as getting more sleep, eating healthier, or being more active as a family. Here at Gossler Park, students are staff are busy working on creating WIGS, which stands for Wildly Important Goals. We have set school wide academic goals, and your children will also create personal goals. We encourage you to support in this goal setting by talking with your children about their WIGS and setting your own family goals at home!
i-Ready
Students will be completing mid-year i-Ready diagnostic testing this month. It will begin this week. It is important your children come to school on time and be ready to learn!
Habit 5: Seek First to Understand, then to be Understood
This habit is about truly listening to other people's feelings, ideas and thoughts, even if they are different from our own. We look at others when they are speaking and listen without interrupting. We try to see things from the other person's perspective.
Breakfast & School Start Time
Students who are wishing to eat breakfast at school need to arrive at 8:00 a.m. All other students enter the building at 8:15 and the school day starts at 8:25.
School Food Pantry
The school food pantry will be open again this month on Thursday, January 19 from 1:00-3:00.
