Chester Elementary School
May 22, 2023. A Year of Significance!
CES Happenings
Dear CES Family,
Play ball! This opening is for all of you parents that have children participating in softball or baseball, and there are a lot of you. Spring is well underway and we are thankful it's here. Just three weeks are left in the school year and it's well laid out with lots of great things in store for our students before everyone heads home for summer.
With the good weather, we now have students riding bikes to school, which is great. Please make sure that, if your child is one of these students, he or she is wearing a helmet and review safe bike riding rules. Better yet, have your child participate in our Bike Rodeo next week on Thursday, May 25th, from 2:30 to 3:30. Lots of great things to be learned, Bodfish Bicycles will be there to help with repairs, and lots of freebies for our kids, including bike helmets. Hope you can make it.
An FYI on another subject: previous newsletters stated that our Kid Appreciation Day is on June 5th. This is incorrect: it is June 6th. Parents are welcome to attend this much-anticipated kid day.
Sincerely,
Scott Cory
Principal

May Mountain Messenger
Here is the May edition of the Mountain Messenger. It's time to be outdoors! While the target audience for this publication is teaching staff, it's a great source of information for our parents as well and provides insights on what our students are learning. It's also just some good info for those of us who love the outdoor. Enjoy!
Expanded Learning (After-School )Program Enrollment
We have an outstanding after-school program. Interested in enrolling for the 2023-2024 school year? Complete the enrollment form and submit it to the CES office. We also have hard copies available in the office.
We are hiring! CES has an amazing educational team. We have been very fortunate to hire some great staff recently, but we still have immediate openings for the following positions:
- Chester & Greenville Schools - Health Care Aide - 25 hrs./wk.
- English Learner aide (2 hrs./day)
If you or someone you know works well with kids and wants to make a difference in our community by serving in our schools, please let us know. For details, please contact Principal Scott Cory at scory@pcoe.k12.ca.us. Click here to see current job postings.
