MES Soaring to Success
Principal weekly update
Good afternoon parents!
Parent conferences are this week! We hope to see you all here. If you have not signed up yet please make sure you reach out to your child's teacher. Also a reminder to check the lost and found. There are many items there! As a reminder, we have early dismissal (12:55) on Tuesday 11/14, Thursday 11/16 and Friday 11/17 for parent conferences.
We have an exciting Friday coming up as it is FRIED DOUGH FRIDAY! Please make sure if your child wants to purchase fried dough they have money in their account or they bring it to school that day. Many children love this day!
Just a note regarding some of the letters you have been receiving home lately. One letter went out inviting students to the Intervention Academy which is the afterschool academic program . The other SST letter went out to inform some that their student would be receiving intervention services during the school day. If you received any of these letters and have questions please feel free to reach out to me!! Not all of you will receive a letter.
This year once again we will be participating in Connecticut Children's Hospital PJ's for kids day!. Students and staff are asked to donate a $1 or more to wear their PJ's on Dec 8th. All money collected goes directly to the hospital to continue their efforts in battling child hood cancer. Below is a link to donate as well as a link to watch a brief video on the cause.

A Note from the Nurse
Recess:
Please send your child to school dressed and ready to go out for recess daily. The cooler weather is upon us and it is important to dress appropriately. Children go outside for recess regardless of what they have come to school wearing. A child will not be kept inside if he/she is without the proper attire. Recess is daily with the exception of a rainy day.
If possible, please send a change of clothes in your child’s backpack, in the event your child gets wet or dirty.
Snacks:
Please be mindful while packing snacks for your child. We encourage healthy choices. That being said several students are bringing in candy and high caffeine energy drinks to school.
