March 2023
Principal Connection
We are off to a great start in our final trimester of the year! We are looking forward to a couple of end of year events and to celebrate our finishing seniors! In this newsletter you will find information about our upcoming school dance along with senior graduation information. We continue to look for new ways to enhance our program for the students that we serve, and are proud to see our E-Sports teams completing its third season at the beginning of April! If you have not heard about this, I encourage you to speak with the students or coaches involved in this new challenge and see how you could be a part of it.
Finally, we are currently looking to fill 1 vacant spot on our school board. These terms can be either 2 or 4 year terms, and we love having a parent involved in this process. The board meets once a month to discuss school progress and goals, and provides additional leadership for the direction of the program. If you believe you would like to help give back to the community, and lead the direction of NexTech High School through the next stage of our program please reach out to me directly, or follow this link to read more from Central Michigan University.

Welcome New Staff
Spanish/Art Teacher
My name is Mr. Art Araujo. I have recently rejoined the Nextech team after three years hiatus to finish up some certifications in the east side of the state.
I graduated from Ferris State University with an Illustration degree and obtained a fine arts education certification. I was previously an art teacher here and now I will be joining the team as support with a focus on art and Spanish.
I have spent the last couple of weeks getting to know your wonderful students. I have enjoyed all of the conversations, especially the goal-oriented ones.
A little about me: in my spare time I love to spend time with my wife and children. We have a busy household with 15 years old Aiko, 6-year-old Lily, and 2-year-old going on to 17 Logan. We enjoy cooking, dancing, playing board games, and laughing. All this fun is usually over by 8 pm and then my wife Jenn and I enjoy reading and writing. Supporting young people all over the state is a passion we both share. I have been teaching for almost 8 years and I absolutely love it. I look forward to our time together here at Nextech and I can't wait to see our students reach their full potential.
