From the Office
It's the Rainy Season. Again.
Please make sure that your students are dressed for the weather and have an extra set of clothes in their backpack. Even big kids get wet when it rains.
Remember, students are not allowed to have umbrellas at school!
Please make sure your kids are coming home with their coats and that they are marked with their name. Lost & Found is overflowing again! Thank you!
~Principal Ryan Douglas

Although each child should have an extra set of clothes in their backpack, there are still cases when clothes are needed in the health room, especially elastic waistband pants and leggings. If you have any to donate that your kids have outgrown, they would be appreciated.

The Steilacoom Food Pantry helps many families in our community. Non-perishable food items needed throughout the year include canned beans, cereal, jam, peanut butter and pasta, however all non-perishable food is welcomed. Diapers, toothbrushes, toothpaste and hygiene products are also needed. All items can also be dropped off at Steilacoom Public Works at 1030 Roe St., Steilacoom. Monetary donations can be made with checks payable to WLSA and mailed to The Town of Steilacoom’s Public Works Building, 1030 Roe Street, Steilacoom, WA 98388. If you have questions concerning the food bank, contact Paul Loveless at 253-983-2074. For more information, visit https://townofsteilacoom.org/289/Food-Pantry
Caring for Kids (CFK) volunteers are needed and work all year long helping hundreds of families in our area. Contact Diane at carekids@comcast.net or check out Caring For Kids Fircrest on Facebook. The CFK phone number is 253-279-9777.
"The last several months have been very busy. CFK managed to send out 3,536 backpacks filled with school supplies to the schools. Over 1,000 school supply orders, activity kits and books have been picked up by the schools. The clothing bank orders are coming in as many as seventeen in one day. Keeping the clothing bank filled is a major task, and we'll be helping hundreds of families for the holidays. Please help us! "(Diane, CFK)
Right now, Caring for Kids has school supplies and books available at 10527 Kendrick Street, Lakewood. Hours are 8am - 10:30am, Monday - Thursday,
A big thank you to all of the PeaceBuilders "Helping Others" in our community!

Construction Ahead
The I-5 Mounts Road to Steilacoom-DuPont Road Corridor Improvements projects began in August.
If you’ve driven Interstate 5 recently, chances are you’ve seen new orange construction signs, shifted
lanes and construction activity by exit 119/Steilacoom-DuPont Road.
WSDOT wants travelers to know what is happening and the work hours they will see lane or ramp
closures. The online open house will be updated throughout the life of the project. Here are the links:
