St. Thomas More School News
"Comfort, comfort my people, says your God.”
(Isaiah 40:1)
Trimester One Attendance Awards
St. Thomas More School is excited to share that 37 students achieved perfect attendance for Trimester One. This means that 37 students had no absences nor tardies. Additionally, 54 students had outstanding attendance with only one or less absence and one or less tardy. These students are being honored this week through our morning announcements. These students will receive a certificate and a coupon for a free meal from Texas Roadhouse. Check back next week for the list of honored students and pictures of our award winners! Congratulations St. Thomas More Students!
Golden Apple Nominee: Mrs. Julian!
Congratulations Mrs. Julie Julian on your nomination for a Golden Apple Award for St. Thomas More School! Mrs. Julian is a hard-working and dedicated member of the STM staff, and we are honored to have her as a teacher! Students enjoy reading and working with Mrs. Julian on their math. She always greets every child by their name and a smile. Way to go Mrs. Julian! We are so proud of you!
REMINDER: Extended Absence/Vacation Policy
To support the success of our students and to help families, St. Thomas More School has implemented the following policy beginning with the current school year (2023-24). The policy can be found on page eight of the Family Handbook/Manual Familiar. We thank you for your help and assistance in following this policy!
Extended Absence Policy
St. Thomas More School will NOT allow extended absence of any kind which results in more than five consecutive missed days of school.
Extended absences lasting from two to five days must be pre-approved by the principal through an extended absence form which can be obtained in the front office of the school. NO homework will be prepared for the student ahead of an extended absence and it is the responsibility of the student to make up this homework after returning.
The only absences that will be allowed to extend past the five days will be for student illness. In the event of an extended illness lasting more than two days, the student must obtain a medical excuse from his or her medical provider.
Students or families who violate this policy will be withdrawn from St. Thomas More School at the time of the extended absence. Withdrawn students will risk losing their STM enrollment, and this could also affect their participation in the Wisconsin Parental Choice Program.
For families wishing to take an extended vacation, it is recommended to use the pre-planned days that St. Thomas More School is not in session.
