Cedar Hill Scholar Athlete of the Week: Parker Stribling (Sponsored by Cedar Hill EDC)
Cedar Hill High School senior Parker Stribling played an important role in leading the Longhorns to their best season since 2015 last winter.
“I enjoy being a part of the Cedar Hill High School Boys Basketball team because of the camaraderie that comes with this group,” Stribling said. “It’s bigger than the on court success that we have. We spend time together off the court as well. We work hard every day, we compete and we better ourselves every day in every aspect of life.”
Stribling, the Cedar Hill Scholar Athlete of the Week, sponsored by the Cedar Hill Economic Development Corporation, has played on the Longhorns’ varsity team since his sophomore year.
“My favorite moment with the team is winning the first round of playoffs last year (against Hutto),” said Stribling, who also competes in Track & Field for CHHS “There was just a different feeling and we strive to get back to that point today and go even farther.”
The Longhorns won a pair of 1-point nailbiters against Hutto and Wylie, respectively, before a 2-point loss to Mansfield Legacy in the third round.
Stribling plans to study Accounting or Journalism at Houston, LSU, Morehouse, Tuskegee, Prairie View A&M, North Texas or UT Austin.
“I hope to stay around the game of basketball as a sports analyst/broadcaster and eventually, maybe a sports agent,” Stribling said.
The mission of the Cedar Hill Economic Development Corporation (EDC) is to retain and expand business through a proactive retention and expansion program, attract desirable business and industry by fostering a strong business climate, and aggressively market Cedar Hill, TX utilizing a multi-faceted approach.
