Welcome Mr. Aaron Waxenfelter!
Introduction Letter From Colton Elementary's Speech-Language Pathologist
Hello Colton Families!
My name is Aaron Waxenfelter and I’m the new Speech-Language Pathologist for Colton Elementary and Middle School. I’m so excited to be here and am eager to connect with students and be a part of their growth and learning!
I live in Canby with my wife Catherine, who works at Carus Elementary. We just sent our youngest off to Southern Oregon University, so we are empty nesters now. We also have a married son that is attending University of Oregon. I have a lot of extended family in Estacada and Sandy and I grew up in rural Oregon City, so Colton feels very much like home.
I have been with the Salem-Keizer district for the past 8 years and am excited to be with a smaller
district. I enjoy the energy and exuberance of children and I’m into word origins, word puzzles, books, and talking. I became a Speech-Language Pathologist at age 42 and only wish I’d found it sooner because I love going to work!
I look forward to meeting many of you in the near future.
Friendly Reminder From The Transportation Department
A reminder from the Colton School District Bus Garage:
Fall is here and as the days continue to get shorter and mornings darker, it is helpful for parents to have some type of light with students at their bus stop. Reflective patches on coats help too. This makes it easier for the school bus drivers and other drivers to see them. Let’s be safe and visible this winter.
Thank you, from the Colton School District Transportation staff.
Lost & Found Items
We have 44 lost jackets and sweatshirts from our first month of school! Please look at these pictures and see if one of them belongs to you. Just email a brief description to Mrs. Wagner at wagnerc@colton.k12.or.us and we can send it home with your child.
CES SITE COUNCIL
Colton Elementary School is looking for a parent/guardian for our CES Site Council Committee. The Site Council meets between 4-6 times a year to discuss the development and implementation of professional growth for school's staff and improvement of student instructional programs. If this is something you might be interested in volunteering for, please contact Shannon at earlss@colton.k12.or.us.
JOG A THON~ OCTOBER 17
