Be Kind, Be Awesome, Be Well!
News, Reminders & Updates: 12/31
Good Morning E.L.M. Families,
Happy New Year! I hope you all have enjoyed your holiday. We are back to school bright and early on Monday morning. Please remind your student to bring their winter gear back to school. Winter may show up at any time and we need to be prepared for PE and recess.
Next Week at a Glance:
Mon. 1/3 - School Committee Mtg. @ 5:00pm - Agenda Attached Below
Tues. - 1/4 -
Wed. - 1/5 -
Thurs. 1/6 -
Fri. 1/7 - Half Day of School - Ski Club - After Care/PreK Payments due today.
* After Care Families - A friendly reminder that payments are due on Monday, if you had forgotten to make payments before the holiday break. Please note that all payments for After Care are due by Friday for the week prior to the week of attendance.
* Don, our school bus driver, will be retiring at the end of January. If you or someone you know is interested in this position, you can contact Dan Sookey, Dufour Bus at 413-664-9725.
* Ski Families: Ski Club begins next Friday. Students will need to bring all of their gear to school in the morning. Students will eat lunch before they leave at 11:35am.
Planning Ahead:
* After Care Families - Please note that there will be no After Care available on Friday, January 14th, so staff can participate in CPR training on that day.
* The Northern Berkshire EMS will host a Buckle Up for Life parent event after school on Tuesday, January 11th at 3:00pm. This event will offer a free car seat to families that attend.
A Note from the Nurse:
* It is very likely that we will see an uptick in positive cases over the next two weeks, so we will continue to test using our Test & Stay and Symptomatic Testing protocols. Please keep your children home and have them tested, if they are experiencing any symptoms, or if they have had any positive exposure. Many municipalities are offering free Covid test kits, so please reach out to them if you'd like to receive one.
* NBSU schools will now be following the new CDC guidelines of mandatory quarantine for five days when testing positive. Staff and students can return to school on day six from a positive result, as long as they are symptom free.
* Nurse Barbara will continue to substitute as our nurse until the new nurse begins on Tuesday, Jan. 18th.
Finally, I hope you all have a happy and healthy New Year, and we look forward to seeing everyone on Monday morning.
Sincerely,
Mrs. Tierney
