While the forecast looks good for our parade, just providing a contingency plan in the event of inclement weather...

If there is inclement weather, an email will be sent to families by 12:30 PM announcing a LIVE STREAM option for the Halloween Parade (both PreK and schoolwide). If a LIVE STREAM is necessary, a WEBEx link will be sent to provide access to the LiveStream. Note: If it is only misting, we will proceed with the parade, but if it is a rain that will drench everyone, there will be no in person parade, but we will LIVESTREAM.

Parents/Guardians are invited to attend the Halloween Parade - Weather Permitting@ 1:45 - 2:00 PM! If the weather is cooperative, the students and staff will parade across the front of the building two times to wave at all of our guests! Visitors will not be permitted in the school building. Please also be ready to snap your picture as your child passes by, as the line will need to keep moving!

For our PreK students, our parade will be at 1:15 PM. Parents should park in our lower parking lot or along Mt.Arlington Blvd... but NOT IN THE DRIVEWAY of the school. Our PreK parade will be hosted on the small black top at the beginning of the driveway on the side of the building.

Thank you to everyone who came out for our Title 1 SAIL Math Family Fun Night! A great night was had by all exploring a host of Math and STEAM related activities, as well as learning more about our new Math Program entitled, REVEAL Math.

Mrs. Bethon, our Art Teacher, has begun a new recogntition program entilted, Artist of the Month. The recognition is focused on but not limited to the process of making art and effort. On Friday, Mrs. Bethon announced the Artists of the Month for each grade level. Pictured is Caroline Maude, our First Grade Artist of the Month, with Mrs. Bethon.

Each year, Veterans Day honors veterans of the armed forces and those who passed in our country's wars. Although our staff and students will not be in school on November 11 due to the NJEA Convention, Veterans Day is an important day of recognition for those who have bravely served our country. In an effort to celebrate the numerous Roxbury community members who have served, our elementary schools are asking for students and families to submit information about family members who are currently or were formerly in the armed forces.

If you are interested in submitting information about a family member who has served, please complete the Google Form linked below and submit by October 31, 2022, so that all of the information can be uploaded to a Google Slide Show that will be shared with our classroom teachers and then in turn shared with our students.

Thank you for your time and assistance with this important project as we celebrate the bravery of our Veterans.

Why a Gallery Walk? Each of our staff spend countless hours designing a classroom environment that is supportive of our Portrait of a Graduate Core Values, our curriculum, our students and each other as professionals! It isn't often that staff have a chance to visit each other's classrooms just for the purpose of celebrating the AWESOMENESS that exists and to grow ideas of what can be done in their respective spaces. The Classroom Gallery Walk was intended to do just this... Celebrate and Inspire and it was enjoyed by many!

Maschio's, our food service provider, has announced that a new BREAKFAST menu will be launched effective November 1, 2022. You can visit this link to check out the update.

Thank you to our PTA and all of the volunteers that helped to make Friday night enjoyable for all! The addition of a Sensory Friendly experience from 6-6:30 PM was an awesome addition!

In our efforts to ensure a safe and enjoyable Halloween, the following information is being provided to help guide Halloween shopping. More information regarding Halloween festivities will be forthcoming:

• Please do NOT send in goodie bags or treats for your child to distribute to his/her classmates.
• Costume rules that MUST be followed:
• Arrive at school in his/her costume. Staff will NOT be able to help children get dressed in their costumes.
• ABSOLUTELY NO Costume masks that cover the face or face Paint can be worn on the face!!!!! If your child comes to school with their face painted, they will need to wash it off at school.
  
• No props should come to school (i.e. baskets, toy weapons/swords, etc).
• Your child should be able to INDEPENDENTLY get in and out of his/her costume to go to the bathroom.
• When selecting costumes, I would ask that consideration be given for the age range of our students (PreK - Grade 4). Please refrain from any costumes that have the potential to scare our youngest students.
• NOTE: Students should be able to sit down in their costumes. As a result, the costumes that have motors to inflate them are not a good option for school, but would perfect for your Monday trick or treating expeditions.
