Description: The Blue and White Corner is Hempstead High School’s school store. Students who join this club will learn marketing, math, and consumer relations skills that will prove helpful to them when they seek employment.

Senior Class
Description: The Senior Class is involved in planning class activities (i.e. class trip, Senior Prom) to provide a variety of events to bring the class together as a whole. Additionally, the class performs community service and outreach.

Description: The Junior Class strives to instill school pride and spirit in the High School. It is involved in choosing the site for the Senior Prom and raising money for the event.

Description: The Freshman Club will meet collaboratively to help ease the transition to high school, bolster school spirit, fundraise toward their Senior Prom, and increase freshman participation in school-wide events, such as Homecoming week.

Description: The primary purpose of cheerleading is to create enthusiasm and support for the district’s extra-curricular football and basketball teams. To serve as leaders and positive role models among students. Each team member must be aware of the time commitment and individual dedication required to achieve personal improvement and effective teamwork through responsibility and discipline.

In the past, we have planted trees on campus, recycled bottles and cans throughout the building, and planted flowers around the community. We have adopted animals from WWF and bring attention to environmental causes throughout the world.

Pride For All Club

Description: This club is designed to help support and create awareness for students or friends and family members of students who identify as LGBTQQ. Everyone is welcome! The main focus of the group is to aid in creating a positive and safe school climate for those who identify. Students will always feel supported and will be given many opportunities to have their voices heard. The club will start with a social and supportive atmosphere with hopes of reaching levels of activism to support LGBTQQ while diminishing views of homophobia and transphobia. Additional emphasis will be placed on educating students, teachers, parents, and community members regarding school rules and policies while helping to eliminate harassment, bullying, and discrimination.

Yearbook Club
Description: The Yearbook Club carries on the tradition of recording and publishing a chronicle of the school year by producing Hempstead High School’s annual yearbook. Students in grades 9-12 who are interested in journalism, photography, and/ or graphic design are encouraged to join as members of the staff. The Yearbook Staff and Executive Board are responsible for developing a yearbook theme, the layout of the yearbook, photo content, and composition, copywriting, setting up page design with the publisher’s online program, meeting strict deadlines, marketing, and distribution of the book. Involvement in the Yearbook Club offers students the opportunity to gain life skills, assume the responsibilities of working with deadlines, and work as a team.

Drum Club
This club promotes building self-esteem in students by allowing students to express themselves through drumming. Students will have an opportunity to use their own creativity by developing their own rhythms and collaborating with fellow drummers. Some other benefits include developing hand-eye coordination and listening skills, developing resiliency by mastering rhythms, learning to work as a team, and making new friends.

Fashion Club is a space where students can express themselves through fashion! We learn the basics of sewing, designing, the fashion industry, and modeling. Students will have the opportunity to participate in the annual fashion show, costume design production for the school play and creating their own fashion line.

Our goal will be to bring everyone at our school together in a cooperative, caring way as well as remind students to look for the good they see in people. We wish to change the world with kindness.

Our goal is to empower students to manage their stress levels, improve their focus and concentration, and ultimately enhance their performance in school. We will connect with nature, focus on mindful eating habits, engage in mindful movement practices, and learn to appreciate the little things in life.
