Secure Drill, Monday, January 8th
Greetings, Griffin Creek School Families,
We wanted to let you know that on Monday, January 8th at 8:30, we will be conducting a security drill at school. The purpose of the drill is to educate our staff and students about how to respond in an emergency situation. We work closely with our Medford Police School Resource Officers (SROs), School Marshals and other law enforcement partners to ensure the training is relevant and incorporates current best practices.
We utilize the Standard Response Protocol (SRP) to respond to various incidents. This allows us to have flexibility and a unified response grounded in a common language. SRP commands consist of Hold - Secure - Lockdown - Evacuate and Shelter.
We also utilize the ALICE model consisting of Alert, Lockdown, Inform, Counter, and Evacuate at age appropriate levels. ALICE empowers our team members to respond appropriately to the specifics of the circumstance they may be facing.
Your students’ safety is the basis of everything we do. Thank you for entrusting us with your most precious resource, your children and our students.
If you would like to discuss school safety and security with your student(s), we recommend some of the resources below.
Please remember in a real emergency:
we will communicate reunification details as needed
we encourage you to Stay Home, Stay Informed and Be Ready
If you have any questions for us, don’t hesitate to reach out at 541-842-3740.
Sincerely,
Sarah Costa

Atentamente,
Sarah Costa
