This week, our 3rd, 4th, and 5th graders will participate in our state-wide standardized testing. Here are some important tips:

• Come to school everyday May 17-31.
• Please arrive on time.
• Please avoid scheduling appointments in the morning.
• Students should sleep 8-10 hours each night
• Each a healthy breakfast
• Try not to put too much pressure on your child. Tell them that it's their time to show off all that they know!

Lately the teachers are receiving many last minute messages through communication apps and/or office phone calls asking to tell their child that they are running late or an auntie will be picking up, etc. Although teachers try to relay these messages, it's often very difficult to do so. This is especially true at the end of the day when over 20 children are packing up, collecting their work, and cleaning their workspace. We ask you to please be kind to our teachers and the office staff when messages are not relayed to children. We do try, but it's not always so easy. We ask that families plan ahead, using checklists, calendars, phone alarms, and other strategies so that you are not relying on the teachers or office staff. Of course we want to be supportive, but we also want our students to have consistent routines and learn to be responsible. We need last minute messages to only occur when the unexpected happens. Thank you for helping us with this.

Don't forget to stop by the front lobby and check out the LOST & FOUND! We have around 100 different hoodies, coats, sweaters, and more waiting to be returned to their home.

Important End-Of-Year Library Dates from Mrs. Mehl -

• May 27 - Last day to check out library books.
• May 31 - Library will be closed for classroom use for the remainder of the school year. It will be open for returns only.
• June 3 - All library books are due*

*What do I do about a lost library book?

• purchase a replacement from Amazon or a bookstore. This is preferable over sending cash/check because then the replacement book will go directly to our school library.

• If the exact same book is not available, you may purchase a similar book or choose one from our Amazon Wishlist, and I will count that as a replacement.

Replacement books must be hardcover unless the book that is missing was a paperback (if the call number on your student's overdue notice is listed as "PB", then it was a paperback).

Our onsite Aftercare STAR program has now released their Summer camp information from June 13 until August 5th. It is $315 per week from 9am-5pm and STAR will honor scholarships to parents who apply.
