Welcome to our weekly newsletter for Columbus Elementary families! Every Friday we will share good news, important information, and of course our STAR STUDENTS with you.
Week in Review
It has been another exciting week at Columbus! Our fourth-grade band had its first performance on Thursday. This year there are 135 children in the band, which is about ninety percent of the entire fourth grade. Each section of the band got to showcase their instruments, and the entire band played three songs together. They did an amazing job. Today the fourth graders took a journey back to Colonial times. They had the chance to live a day in the life of a colonial child. Thank you to the PTA for sponsoring this wonderful event and to Mrs. Chambers for organizing this memorable experience for our students. Some of our fifth graders celebrated their 1000th day of school! Please see some pictures and a video below in the around Columbus section.
February is RANDOM ACTS OF KINDNESS MONTH. This makes February the perfect opportunity to practice our monthly theme of EMPATHY, as well as compassion, by doing random acts of kindness to brighten someone’s day. Below is a calendar with a random act of kindness you can do for every day of the month. Have fun spreading kindness every day!
