Edu-Dance Concert
As parents will be aware, Edu-Dance has been a part of the Physical Education program for a few years now. The program gives students the opportunity to focus on physical fitness and self-esteem through dance.
We'd like to congratulate all our students who participated in the program this year. Yesterday's concert was fantastic, and it never ceases to amaze me how confident and well-prepared all the students are. A big 'thank you' to Miss Winter, who has worked with our students for a few years now. The concert was certainly a highlight for the term!
Reports
Semester One reports were made live yesterday through SEQTA. These academic reports detail your child's achievement at this point in time based on work produced by your child during the semester. This report is a great opportunity for you and your child to celebrate the successes thus far, and to set goals for next semester.
If you have any queries about your child's progress, the teachers are most happy to discuss the report with you. For login details, please see Mrs Healey in the office.
Pickup in the Afternoons
The school has had a few complaints from neighbouring households over the past few weeks concerning the 3.00pm pickups in the afternoon. As parents would have observed, parking inspectors from the Council have been present over the past few weeks.
Just a reminder to be observant of the parking signs around the school. There is always a sizeable drop in pick-up traffic from 3.10pm onwards, particularly at the Church pick-up point. Teachers are on duty at the pick-up points until 3.20pm.
NAIDOC Week
We will be observing Our National Aboriginals and Islanders Day Observance Committee (NAIDOC), the first week of Term 3. Teachers will be undertaking a variety of in-class activities around the 2023 NAIDOC Week theme For Our Elders. The theme is in recognition of the part Elders play and have played in our communities and families.
International Competitions and Assessments for Schools (ICAS)
ICAS Assessments
We are delighted to inform you that Queen of Apostles will again be participating in the world-renowned ICAS competition this year.
What is ICAS?
ICAS is an online academic competition that is designed to assess students’ higher order thinking and problem-solving skills in English, Mathematics, Science, Writing and Spelling.
Each assessment celebrates students’ accomplishments by providing opportunities for recognition and development. Every student who participates will receive a printed certificate and an online results report. Top performers will be eligible for medals.
We encourage you to consider entering your child into ICAS this year.
