Hawk Happenings
May 18th - 22nd
Here's what's happening at Spring Lake...
It's hard to believe it's the last week of school! The year 2020 will be one to remember. We are so proud of the students for sticking with their online learning and appreciate parents for helping and supporting your children through this challenging time.
Tomorrow we will be celebrating our Kindergarten, 5th & 6th Graders as they "graduate" for the school year. Each teacher has a scheduled time for families to participate in this Drive By Goodbye Celebration. It should be a lot of fun for everyone!
Our teacher parade will take place on Thursday beginning at 1:00 PM. Parade Routes have been shared in this newsletter, on our website and Facebook pages. Please come out and wave a final goodbye for the school year.
Summer Meals are being offered for students as well as Summer Bridge Tutoring for students who need help catching up after the school closure. You will be contacted directly if your child qualifies for summer tutoring. Information on summer programs is listed below.
We love our Spring Lake school community! I will continue to send updates about registration and returning to school next fall as I meet with district leaders and prepare over the summer for a safe return for students in August.
Please give your kids a big hug from all of us and continue to stay safe.
Sincerely,
Principal Jordan
Drive By Goodbye Graduation for K, 5th & 6th
Tuesday, May 19th is our Drive By Goodbye for students who are graduating or moving on the middle school next year. You should have received an invitation from your child's teacher about this event.
We ask parents to enter the school grounds by coming down 1800 S. on the south side of the school and waiting in the line of cars as you are directed to pull in to our bus lane.
In the bus lane, the student may exit the vehicle and come get their graduation certificate and say goodbye to their teachers.
After exiting the bus lane, you will notice two picture stations on our north lawns. You can pull into to the drop off zone parking lots, park and exit your vehicle to take pictures of your student. Be sure to social distance (if another family is taking pictures, please wait until they leave before exiting your vehicle).
Here is the schedule:
9:30 - 10:30 AM - Mrs. McFarlands Kindergarten Class
10:45 - 11:45 AM - Mrs. Davis's Kindergarten Class

TEACHER HONK & WAVE PARADE - May 21st @1:00 PM
* We ask that families maintain social distance and stay in their own yards.
* We have asked teachers not to hand any items out of their vehicles to students.
* We ask that nothing be handed in to the teachers as they drive.
* Students should not run up to or approach vehicles for any reason.
* We are not able to come down every street, so please check the parade route and chose a place to come wave & watch!
We just want to see the bright smiling faces of the students one last time and wish you all well.
