Dear CSSE Families,

I had a follow up visit with my doctor this week, and while my leg is improving, I am still on orders to rest and keep my leg elevated. Not what I was hoping to hear, but I am trying to accept my current limitations as best as I can.

I was able to spend a little time at school today for Second Grade and my son’s First Penance and the start of Enrichment Clusters. It was such a busy and exciting day getting to witness students receive a sacrament while others are on the path to discovering something new and fun in their cluster. Being in our building with students brings me so much joy, and I miss it dreadfully! Please keep praying for a swift recovery!

Please plan to attend either OK Parental Choice Tax Credit meeting on Sunday, Nov. 12th at 3pm in Ross Hall or Wednesday, Nov. 15th at 8:15am in Ross Hall. Please note the application process now begins in December instead of November. Our SALT Food drive has come to an end, and while we are waiting until Monday to reveal the final totals, be assured that we are so grateful to all our students, families, and parishioners who contributed to our mission to help end hunger!

Thursday, November 9th - All Veterans and Active Duty family members of our St Eugene students are invited to attend 8:15 Mass and a reception afterward in Ross Hall. Our 8th grade students are hosting this very special annual event as part of their SALT focus study for the year. Please RSVP to Nathan Blagg at nblagg@steugeneschool.org by November 6th. Please RSVP with the guest's name and the name of the Saint Eugene student (with grade level) they are related to.

Save the date for our St. Eugene Library Book Fair! We will have a family & friends shopping day on Saturday, November 11th from 9am-12pm. The book fair will be open daily to students and families Nov. 13-17th after drop off ends until one hour after afternoon carpool ends. Our online fair is already open. Books purchased online will ship free to the school after the book fair ends on the 17th. If you are interested in volunteering to help as a fair cashier or with tear down, please use the book fair sign up. Proceeds from the book fair fund our library and pay for new books!

Book Fair Tips

• Purchase gift cards online for your child to cut down on cash sent to school. Please print gift cards and send to school.

• If you send cash or checks, please put it in a marked envelope with your student’s name, then email the teacher to let them know your student has money for the book fair.

• If there are specific items you want your child to buy (or not buy), please include a note with their book fair money. Not all items listed in the flier are guaranteed to be in stock at our fair.

• No big bags of mixed change please! Save Mrs. Hattaway’s sanity and count out change ahead of time, and roll or label how much in separate baggies for pennies, nickels, dimes, etc.

• Teachers will have wish lists - pick a book out for your favorite teachers, or purchase a book fair gift card for them to use at the book fair Nov. 11-17th!

If you are a current coach or wanting to coach a team for our school you are required to take the PLACT (Play Like a Champion Today) Training. This is a one time training required for all coaches. The training will take place on 11/15 at 6:00pm at the Catholic Pastoral Center. If you need to get signed up for this training please email David Frame at dsaframe@gmail.com.

We have a limited supply of new Flynn O’Hara crewneck logo sweatshirts for purchase. These may be worn in the school building, but not to school mass. CSSE students Sully and Sutton Webber received the sacrament of Baptism in the Catholic Church this week. We are so happy for them!

Congratulations to our second grade students who received the Sacrament of Reconciliation for the FIRST time today! What a lovely gift they have been given from our ever merciful and loving God!

Art Club Monthly Saturday Sign Ups - Art Club will meet one Saturday a month from 10:00 AM to 3:00 PM in the art room at CSSE. Art Club is open to 2nd-8th grade students. The fee is $75.00. 48 Hours of Adoration Experience the presence of Christ in the Eucharist during St. Eugene’s “48 Hours of Adoration” Nov. 6, 7 & 8. Sign up to spend an hour or two with our Lord, and please pray the Holy Spirit to renew our Church with more vocations to the priesthood and consecrated life! Fr. Jerome will lead a special children’s adoration on Nov. the 7th after 5:30 mass. Please come!

St. Eugene Women’s Advent by Candlelight - Sign up to attend individually or hostess a table for you and your friends. If you hostess, you’ll provide wine, appetizers and desserts at a table for eight that you’ve also decorated. You can of course invite your friends to help.
