Volume 4 Issue 33
It was another great week to be a Maverick! We had our Maverick High School BBQ this week and Maverick Hangout for our Elementary students is on Thursday. Big thank you to Sergeant Brian Gunsolley from the Orange County Sheriff's Department. We recognized him at the Community Dinner on Thursday Night for his important work bringing Fentanyl education to our 6-12 students at TC and throughout the district. It's an important topic and we appreciate his work.
This week's background features photos from the Community Dinner and high school BBQ.

Principal's Message...
Thank you to our students and teachers as we got off to a great start to our CAASPP testing and for our K-2 students, they did a great job with their on-demand writing. Way to go Mavericks! We had a great week overall with our HS BBQ, Community Recognition, and this week we were featured in the TUSD Weekly Video! Check it out. Big kudos to Dylin. They did a great job showcasing our Medical Terminology course.
This coming week we are continuing CAASPP testing for 3-8 grade students with make ups at the high school. It's Maverick Hangout on Thursday at 12:30.
Lastly, parents please take a moment to complete the 2022-23 Tustin Connect Annual Evaluation Report for Alternative Schools/Programs of Choice Survey. This is a state mandated survey because our program is classified as an Alternative School. Students and teachers will be completing the survey as well prior to the end of the year. We report total scores only.
As always, if you have any questions, compliments, ideas, and/or concerns, please don't hesitate to reach out at (714) 430-2052 ext. 52103 or efineberg@tustin.k12.ca.us.

Great Summer Course for Middle Schoolers: Do you have plans for your Middle School student this summer? Tustin Public Schools Foundation offers a variety of engaging courses for students to participate in during the summer! One of TUSD’s Mental Health Specialists, Claire Skomsvold, LMFT, is facilitating an Art & Media Therapy Course to support students in expressing themselves and connecting with peers. The last day to register is May 1, 2023! Please visit www.tpsf.net/summer for more information. Scholarships are available. Please reach out to Mr. Fineberg for scholarship information. See the link for more information.
8th grade promotion: We are looking forward to celebrating our 8th graders on May 25th at 6 pm at the K-8 campus. Students will need to bring their devices with them as well to check them in. For the ceremony, students should wear formal attire. Collard shirts and pants, dress shoes or newer sneakers. For those wearing a dress or skirt, be sure it goes beyond your fingertips. It is typically cold out, and we are outside so be sure to have a sweater/jacket. The ceremony is on blacktop so if wearing heals, you'll want a stable heal.

We are excited to bring this incredible option to our students! Stay tuned for more details once we are able to finalize the plan. 🤞
