π Brief Message From Principal Muhammad π
Dear Parents,
I want to express my heartfelt gratitude for your unwavering support during the crisis we faced yesterday. Your understanding and cooperation were invaluable during a challenging time. I would like to discuss the incident further, and I will be available next on Monday from 8:00 to 8:30 for a conversation. Thank you once again for your cooperation and trust.
Respectfully,
Tamara Muhammad
With our many families who attend Franklin, we understand parking is a concern, especially during drop off and dismissal. We kindly request that families no longer park in the student loading zones (Copeland eastern side of the street). If you must park, kindly park on the opposite side or another street and walk your student to the gate.
To help alleviate the drop off traffic our gates open at 7:30 am each morning. This time allows for staggered drop offs to happen. Students who arrive at or after 7:50 will need to be dropped off a the main entrance. We kindly ask parents not to exit their cars after 7:50. Once your student receives their tardy slip, students will walk themselves to class. Franklin Staff/Volunteers will assist UTK & K students to class.
Thank you, always, for your understanding and cooperation.

Cluster Meetings!
SDUSD SCHOOLS ARE ORGANIZED INTO CLUSTERS FOR GREATER COMMUNITY COHESION
Clusters will consist of a high school and the middle and elementary schools that feed into it.
Clusters will ensure that there is a continuity for the neighborhood students in the pre-K-to-12 program.
Cluster councils will promote the schools in their communities.
Cluster councils will work with schools, community and district staff to improve the quality of their neighborhood schools.
Cluster councils will be a democratic representation of the school community including teachers, administrators, support staff, students, parents and community members
As a Franklin family, you belong to both the Hoover and Patrick Henry Clusters. I would like to encourage our Franklin families to attend the bi-monthly cluster meetings to best learn about our cluster communities. This is also a time for your voice to be heard on a more global platform.
Follow the links below you will find the meeting times for both clusters:
I hope to see you there!
DEADLINE FAST APPROACHING

The "Priority Window" for School Year 2024-2025 is from October 2, 2023 to November 15, 2023 Parent notifications of the lottery results will be sent via email in early March 2024.
Franklin Elementary STEAM Magnet offers families the unique opportunity to choose between two middle and high school paths after Franklin, without having to go through the Choice Enrollment process. Families may choose to remain within the Hoover Cluster and move on to Hoover Community Schools' Wilson Middle School and Hoover High School, or join the Henry Cluster via Henry Community Schools' Lewis Middle School and Henry High School. Franklin students are guaranteed access to both Wilson Middle School and Lewis Middle School after completing fifth grade.
