Football Celebrates Homecoming at Hewitt-Trussville Stadium
Hewitt-Trussville Football (4-1 overall; 3-0 7A Region 3) will take on the Huffman Vikings (0-5 overall; 0-3 6A Region 6) on Friday September 29.

The new video board at Hewitt-Trussville Stadium will show content pregame. Fans are encouraged to arrive early to experience HT VISION!
Series History:
Friday's game will mark the 44th game between the two teams. The Huskies lead the series 25-18. HT has won the last 11 games in the series.

HT Girls Flag Football Gains Overtime Victory
The Hewitt-Trussville Girls Flag Football team defeated Oxford 12-6 in overtime on Tuesday night at Hewitt-Trussville Stadium. The two defenses dominated the first half as the teams remained tied 0-0 at halftime. Zaylen Tucker made the games' first big play when she intercepted a Yellow Jacket pass and raced 60 yards for a touchdown. The defensive score put the Huskies up 6-0.
Oxford would respond with a touchdown drive to tie the game 6-6. The HT defense held late in the game to force overtime. Oxford got the ball first, but penalties and strong play by the Husky defense held them out of the end zone. The HT offense took the field needing a touchdown for the win. Facing 4th and goal at the three yard line, Erin Coleman hauled in a pass and raced for the winning score.
The Huskies (2-1 overall) will be back in action on October 3 when they travel to Vestavia.
HT Girls Flag Football Schedule/Results:
Freshmen Football Remains Unbeaten
The HT 9th Grade Football team moved to 4-0 this week with a 20-13 win over Hoover. DJ Hall caught three passes for 60 yards. Harrison Malone ran for 83 yards and a touchdown. Jake Lowery was 9 of 13 passing for 134 yards and a touchdown. Anthony Hawkins had an interception on defense.
The HT JV team once trailed Hoover 31-12, but scored the games' final 20 points to win 32-31 in thrilling fashion.
The JV team will travel to Huffman next Monday to face the Vikings.
Cross Country: Wingfoot Classic Recap
Hewitt-Trussville Cross Country traveled to the Wingfoot Classic in Atlanta last weekend.

Girls:
The HT Girls finished in 12th place as a team. Avery Cahoon was the top HT finisher with a time of 19:19.60. Mary Durham was next across the line with a time of 19:32.10. Kinley Harris finished with a time of 19:55.50. Addie Isbell was 4th on the team with a time of 21:26.00. Callie Armstrong was also a team scorer with a time of 21:47.00
Boys:
Lelan Neal was the top HT finisher with a time of 16:57.40. Oscar Spears was 2nd on the team with a time of 16:59.40. Jacob Mullinax was next as he finished in 16:59.70. Noah Jordan was 4th on the team with a time of 17:05.20. Brooks Maddox also scored for the team as he finished in 17:19.40.
The Huskies will be back in action again on October 14th as they travel to Decatur for the Dew it on the Trails races.

Volleyball Goes the Distance to Beat Chelsea
Hewitt-Trussville Volleyball went the distance with Chelsea on Tuesday night and came away with a thrilling 3-2 win in five sets.
Chelsea controlled the first set to go ahead 1-0. The Huskies battled back to tie the match 1-1. HT then seemed to take control of the match with a third set victory to go up 2-1. Chelsea responded and won the fourth set to push the match to the fifth and final set. The Huskies raced to a 10-4 lead in set five and cruised to victory.
Madelyn Bromley recorded 16 kills on the night. Kennedy Vincent had nine kills and 3.5 blocks. Kayleigh Nguyen had seven kills and five aces.
The Huskies will be back at home inside Bryant Bank Arena on Thursday night when they host Gadsden City.

MS Football With Two Wins Over Oak Mountain
Both HTMS Football teams remained undefeated last week with big wins over Oak Mountain. The 7th Grade Huskies won 44-6. Jack Floyd had 112 yards rushing and 97 yards passing and scored three times. Geordin Hatcher ran for 45 yards and a score. Joseph Deibert had a two tackles, two assists, two tackles for loss and a sack to lead the Huskies defense.
The 8th Grade Huskies won 54-0. CJ Davis had 136 yards on six carries and scored three times to lead the Huskies offense. Jaden Stanley led the HT defense with four tackles and one tackle for loss.
The Huskies will host Liberty Park Thursday night. The 7th Grade game will begin at 5pm and the 8th Grade game will begin at approximately 6:45pm.

Volleyball Enters Tournament Play
In the final week of their regular season, both HTMS Volleyball teams defeated Clay-Chalkville 2-0 on Monday, while falling to Bragg 2-0 on Wednesday night.
The Metro Tournament is set for this weekend. The 7th Grade tournament will be hosted by Liberty Park. Bumpus Middle School will host the 8th Grade tournament.
