Canaan Middle School Update
April 28, 2023
Principal Corner
Canaan Families,
I can't believe it is May already. As we enter the final month of school, there are many activities and events to come. Students will be taking part in several educational experiences to finish out the school year like 6th grade camp and a STEM Challenge Day for 5th grade. We also have a few traditional end-of-year activities like field day and the homeroom kickball game. It will be a month full of learning and fun!
We are finishing up State testing with Math testing this week for both the 5th and 6th grades. Students have done a great job so far and I am so proud of their hard work. As we look to finish strong, please remind students to get a good night of sleep and to enjoy a good breakfast before school.
In closing, I want to once again thank everyone for all the support you show our students and staff. Just recently the Canaan PTO organized Lil E's ice cream truck to visit Canaan. Several community members made donations to ensure all students could enjoy a treat during this visit. Because of the generous donations, Lil E's will be visiting again with all students getting a free treat. This is just one example of the amazing support our community shows our students and staff. We can't thank you enough!

Students received a copy of the 2023 Camp Packing List last Friday. Please be sure to read this as you begin to pack. In just 9 days, we will be headed to the woods of Camp Oty’Okwa!
A reminder that camp fees ( $137), white t-shirts, the medication form and the emergency medical form were all due today and are now past due. If your student has not brought these in yet- please plan to send them in ASAP.
