Heritage Conservancy at Aldie Mansion - Visits Butler 4th Grades
The Heritage Conservancy is located in historic Aldie Mansion and is a nonprofit membership organization whose work is to preserve and protect land around our region. Our fourth-grade students had the opportunity to enjoy science-centered hands-on learning that focused on Watersheds, Water Quality, and the Water Cycle. Using a model of a watershed, Aldie came to our school allowing students to observe how different pollutants can get into our water from land and impact plants, animals, and humans. The students observed invertebrates from Neshaminy Creek and learned that the type of insects can tell us if the water is healthy. Last, the students followed a raindrop to learn the process of the water cycle. Each student enjoyed an engaging and educational experience!
