March 27th: START OF TRIMESTER 3

April 4th: HROA K-12 Spring Social, 11:30am - 3:30pm

April 17th - April 28th: State Testing 3rd - 8th Graders

May 1st - May 18th: State Testing 11th Graders

Trimester two report cards were mailed this week. Please connect with the class teacher if you have questions about grades. Hard to believe it but we are in the final trimester for the 2022-2023 school year

April Maker Club is HERE!

April 7th: Art Bots - Build a robot and tune it to make art.

Work with Forrest Kaminski: he is a coder and electrical engineer from Sierra Olympia Technologies. He’ll bring some Arduino gear for you to check out.

April 14th: Paper Airplane and Parachute Challenge.

Work with Kip Miller and Tyler Sibley. They work at Institu and will explain how the concepts in these activities relate to the work Insitu does with actual drones and parachutes.

April 21st: Launcher Challenge.

Go through the steps of the design process to create a launcher that gets a pom pom into a target from at least 5 feet away. You know this will be a fun challenge!

April 28th Kinetic Sculpture

Meet at the Re-Build It Center on Tucker Road. Link to Site on Google Maps

We will learn techniques for joining wires and creating strong but flexible joints. You’ll be invited to gather materials and draft a design for a sculpture that moves with the wind. We’ll come back to the ReBuild It Center on May 19th to build out our sculptures.

Current 8th Grade Students Interested in Going to HRVHS Next Year

Welcome to Hood River Valley High School!

We are thrilled to welcome YOU to HRVHS. Please look for a letter in the mail in the next few days that has information about upcoming visits at your middle school as well as information on how you will be selecting your courses for the 2023 - 2024 school year. Don't forget to mark your calendar for the Class of 2027 Open House. This is a special evening for current 8th graders and parents. We will start with a club and athletic fair, followed by a welcome in the main gym, and end with tours of HRVHS. We will also have several informational sessions that you can choose to attend throughout the evening. Please join us at the club and athletic fair in the Commons at 6 pm or join us promptly at 6:30 pm in the main gym.
