Valerius Weekly
October 30th - November 3
Every Monday is a LATE START! School starts at 9:55am and doors open at 9:40am.
Fall Conference Sign Up Link
Fall 2023 Conference Sign Up Link will be sent home via email (through School Messenger) on Monday (10/30) afternoon.
What Families Will See
From the PTCFast.com site, the parents/guardian will choose their students' teachers. The website will then ask you to register with their students' names and your own names. You will then receive a confirmation email with a link to click on to choose times for your student's conferences (and the parent/guardian will only be able to see their students' teachers, not everyone's). The parent/guardian will also receive a confirmation email as well as reminder emails about the conferences.
Progress Reports Will Be Emailed Home on November 13th
If you happen to view grades on Powerschool Parent Portal before that time, please know teachers are still working on finalizing grades until then. PS Parent Portal is always real time for grades. If you have the mobile app you may get notifications of grade changes as well.
Final grades for 1st Trimester will be listed on the progress report emailed home on Monday, November 13th. Please reach out to the main office at 457-6500 if you have any questions.
Attendance Matters
Why does chronic absenteeism matter?
A report from the U.S. Department of Education (ED) used data from the Civil Rights Data Collection (CRDC) for the 2015-16 school year to illustrate the extent of chronic absenteeism in our nation's schools. The data revealed that chronically absent students are at a greater academic risk for missing early learning milestones, failing courses, and not graduating on time. Chronically absent students are also at a greater risk for a number of negative long-term consequences, such as being more likely to experience poverty, diminished mental and physical health, and involvement in the criminal justice system as an adult.
