The September Family Survey is Now Open!
As part of the Mequon-Thiensville School District’s strategic plan, we strive to produce meaningful communication and engagement opportunities with all stakeholders to build strong relationships and trust across the school community. One of the ways we do this is to offer a variety of survey opportunities to our stakeholders to inform our planning and enhance the educational experience for all students and families while monitoring progress toward strategic goals.
All parents and guardians are invited to participate in the September Family Survey. This survey provides an opportunity to gather family feedback regarding the experience with the Mequon-Thiensville School District thus far in the school year. This information will help us continue to improve our approach to supporting students and their families as we prepare and plan to open our schools each year. Please click the link below to take the September Family Survey by Wednesday, Oct. 4. Only one response per family is needed. Thank you for your engagement in this important feedback opportunity!
School Safety Update: ALICE Strategies
In the Mequon-Thiensville School District, safeguarding our students and staff members is always a top priority and we have protocols and procedures in place for the prevention of and response to emergency situations. We are committed to providing the safest possible environment for our students and staff by taking proactive steps in securing our schools so that they have a safe place to learn, work and grow. To prepare for crisis response situations, MTSD has adopted ALICE proactive strategies. ALICE is an acronym for Alert, Lockdown, Inform, Counter and Evacuate. These strategies empower individuals to participate in their survival using proactive options-based responses. The ALICE strategies are among the most adopted by schools across the country, and ALICE training helps to maintain our compliance with the federally recommended guidelines around school safety and security.
Please feel free to contact Tres Mansfield, Director of Student Social, Behavioral & Health Services (wmansfield@mtsd.k12.wi.us or 262-238-5913) with any questions or concerns that you may have regarding our use of the ALICE proactive strategies, or any other matters of safety and security in the Mequon-Thiensville School District.
Student Support Services Learning Series: The Academic & Career Planning Program
Goal 3 of the Mequon-Thiensville School District’s Strategic Plan is Student Belonging and Well-Being: Foster collaboration and develop relationships to enhance the safety, connectedness, and well-being of our students. An important action step in our 2021-2024 Strategic Plan under Goal 3 is the creation of a family-focused learning series that provides families with a better understanding of the student support resources MTSD has available to them, and how to engage with their students around those resources at home. During this school year, we will be releasing one video per month as part of the Momentum family newsletter that highlights a component of our robust Student Support Services team. Please click below to view the first video in our series: The MTSD Academic & Career Planning (ACP) Program, led by ACP Coordinator, Mr. Matt Wolf.
Special thank you to Shannon Carr, Educational Services Admin. Assistant and MTSD Communications support for her help with this video series!

MTSD is grateful for the support and generosity of the Foundation, and we encourage all community members to support the MTEF through giving directly, partnering through donation of items or services, participating in MTEF events, and connecting others in your circles to the work of MTEF.
